Well that's a simple way of putting. There is loads of Dere's. Yandere, Kamidere, Deredere, Tsundere, Dorodere, Dandere, Kuudere.

 

Well I know a Yandere is just an extreme version of a Tsundere. Kuudere is similar, just another matter of degree. I don't mean they are the exact same kinds of people, of course, but the base orientation is similar to a Tsundere.

 

A dorodere sounds like the reverse of a Tsundere but extreme, so a separate thing, but a kamidere seems like a generic 3rd party thing that could apply to either Tsundere or Doroderes so it's not necessarily disrupting a base Tsundere idea, same with Dandere which is more something that easily be associated with Tsundere or Dorodere. Shyness I think of as introversion generically anyway.

 

Deredere I can't find a definition.

 

Edit: Actually Yandere sounds more like a generic quality too.

 

In essence, someone can be a Kuddere Kamidere Dandere Tsundere or a Kuudere Kamidere Dandere Dorodere, or just a kuudere kamidere tsundere or a kuudere Dorodere or the other permutations, I think, theoretically.

Well Deredere just sounds like Britney Spears or someone, not really alternating between hot and cold at all.

 

I mean basically I get the sense people run hot and cold, or mostly hot or mostly cold. Tsundere (and it's counterpart) seem to just describe people that run primarily hot or primarily cold but alternate. It's hard for me to imagine that has essentially no preference between hot and cold, or someone that doesn't fundamentally interact via hot and cold.

 

All these dere's hurt my brain.

 

Ok, here's my interpretation,

 

Traditional Tsundere I-I don't have a doll or anything, 

Modern Tsundere/more Kuudere it's you know, yeah, I have a ruby doll.

Yandere is all "*** yeah I have a Ruby doll, and who's asking!!*

 

It's still all Tsundere at the base as long as it's fundamentally reactive, it's just the intensity that changes.

 

So not a Tsundere "Hey you, random person, do you have a ruby doll or no?"

Or more intense "I got you a ruby doll and your going to like it!!."

 

Of course that's just the base, some people who are tsundere do their own things and sometimes non-tsunderes receive.
