Saw Mad Max: Fury Road. God, was it good.

 

And reading One Piece again is nice. Glad to see it is still going strong, unlike other manga...

Yeah I heard from a couple people the new Mad Max was good. Glad to hear it! I like Charlie Theron in the things I've seen her in. Decent actress.

Well... uhh... I agree actually.

 

The problem is I can't really make a proper comparison given that I watched Proxy ages ago and can't remember much about its themes and such.

 

But from what I do recall, Lain is far more consistent and gave a stronger impression overall.

 

Proxy suffers from those two pointless episodes and a very mediocre ending but I did enjoy its story and where it was going with... well basically everything.

 

It was simply a more enjoyable experience.

 

Yeah, that anime was a bit confusing and I watched it all in one sitting. It's still a great show though. 

 

What did you think of Golden Time? I bet the ending really surprised you. I couldn't help, but feel sympathetic for the antagonist which is rare for me.

I liked it more than Toradora.

 

The time when they tried to have sex was hilarious.

 

I really like humour like that, reminded me of Friends.

 

Which is awesome.

 

You can't hate Friends.

Which surprise surprise... ISN'T defeat X amount of bosses.

 

Sorry if I sounded negative with that bit of critism.

 

It really isn't bothering me that much.

I'd be surprised if I was left disappointed with it. It's going the direction of being in my top 5 and possibly even top 3 so that should say a lot.

I like Lains story structure. It is very much like a puzzle and I found that rather unique. If my thoughts on Kaiba are any indicator I like the unique ones. I was also a big fan of its dark tone.

 

Yeah I don't doubt that, it is a good show.

Speaking of its dark tone, it's kind of ironic seeing how hopeful the ending was, her sacrifice and the themes it brings along. Lain is as much about people being indifferent to human interaction as it is about the importance of people connecting physically and emotionally.

 

Among other things like religion and such.

 

It is dark.

 

But I wouldn't call it as dark as it seems.

 

Uhhh

 

I still feel so bad for Lain.

 

On a completely different note

 

Arisu/Alice actually keeping with that teacher was kind of sweet. I don't really give af if he was shaggin' some 14 year old, if he kept with her for 4 years he actually cared.

 

Unless that wasn't the the teacher in the end. But I'm sure it was

I'm kinda interested what kind of character Keith plays in it, actually. Might pick the show up again at some point then.

But as long as I get more witty Jeff Winger, I'm pleased.

Oh sorry, I missed it. It's definitely an underrated show and I'm actually surprised that the ending was as good and definitive as it was considering the fact that the manga is still ongoing.

It seemed to imply that they had sex at the end

One of my favorite things that they did was the beach episode. When I saw that they were going to the beach I was like "Oh boy, here we go again. Obligatory beach episode!" and then it ended up being completely different from every other animes beach episode because of what they did with it.

Well I'm not sure when you and Isi stopped.

But this is my stance on each Season.

 

• Season 1: There's some peaks and dips in quality. They were trying to find their center with the show. But made too much of it about Jeff trying to score with Slater (Who's not even on the show anymore. 1/6 seasons. What a pointless character) and Britta. But it has some great moments and episodes.
• Season 2: Arguably the best season, though personally I felt they made Pierce way too unlikeable. But there is the space simulator episode, which is a good one.
• Season 3: Kinda got a little too wrapped up with itself. I'm tempted to say this is where they jumped the shark a little by the end. The Dictator Chang stuff got out of hand imo. The Air Conditioning Repair school works though. Even though it shouldn't.
• Season 4: The least good season. There's not alot to say, characters don't act right, and alot of episodes have dumb premises' (The Alternative History one is painful)
• Season 5: They got back to basics with this one, and I think, while Professor Hickey was a poor substitute for Pierce. It was a good season. I loved the Lava episode.
• Season 6 - Age of Yahoo: Pretty much half the cast is gone by this point. But Frankie and Elroy I think added something new to the group, and Chang is back to being funny (Being given most of the "Troy-ish" lines) And there's only one episode I didn't like this season which generally means they're doing good.

No particular reason. Watched it on Netflix and just never ended up going back to check if they ever added the other seasons. Comedies I sort of just pick up randomly and I don't usually stick with most right until the end since most I've seen just keep going until it goes down hill. Same thing with like 30 Rock and Modern Family. Watched a few seasons, thought they were pretty funny but never really followed them through until the end.

I think season 3 or 4 was the last one I watched. Probably 3. I remember the air conditioning school story. It was a good season/show for sure.

CraveTV has the license for streaming Community in Canada now, so Netflix can't add Season 5. It's dumb.

I've been really off and on with Arrested Development myself.

But Season 2 of Brooklyn 99 got added. Which is great. More Terry Crews for all to enjoy.

Oh yeah! Arrested Development.. Damn I loved that show as it aired. I think I've seen all the seasons for that one. I know I've seen up to the first one they did with Netflix. Not sure if they've done any since.

All I know about Comedies that Netflix brought back from the dead with new seasons recently is that another season of Trailer Park Boys is up now.

 

Which I'll get to...eventually.
