I'm not that harsh on SAO but it does have flaws that will determine whatever if you like it or not. But if I know you correctly, which I might be wrong you must prefer shows that aren't full of fatal flaws like SAO or Gundam SEED.

They don't play much of a role in the Miku arc in the books but they'll come up a lot in the first Natsumi arc.
