Nah.

Nadeko's story arc is arguably the best one in Second Season on a thematic level, and actually makes her a compelling character. It is simply the only arc that doesn't have her only for fanservice, which the majority of her screen time consists of in the series as a whole.

The arc is well written and has a lot of substance, though she is fairly unlikable and her actions in the arc are twisted, so she is hardly a fan favorite.

Yeah, Nadeko is exceptionally well written and got one really awesome story but I'm given little incentive to actually "like" her. I absolutely appreciate her existance but liking.. nah

There's alot of close-ups of the girls' rears in the anime particularly in Sinons case.

And the creepy **** from Fairy Dance. (And the climax of Phantom Bullet. But it's handled better there)

Some fanservicey stuff in some of the Manga (Progressive likes to get Asuna in the shower)

 

And of course the infamous chapter from the book.

 

SAO's Fanbase are fickle btw. From the TV tropes page.

The number of fans that hate Kirito's guts and want him to stay away from ANY female character in the cast so they can have them for themselves is quite high, if we pay attention to the comments about the two tie-in games for PSP and PS Vita.

I'm ashamed to admit I fall into that category.

But it's more my utter frustration to Kirito not tell the other girls to back off and that he's committed to Asuna.

Especially after Sinon makes an uncomfortable pass at him at the end of Caliburn. WHICH ASUNA WAS PRESENT AT THE DAMN TIME!
