yes and no, Nekomonogatari is a prequel, but you'er still supposed to watch Bakemonogatari first. I think.
I read it was Bakemonogatari, NiseMonotagari, Bakemonotogari S2, then Nekomonogatari.

Easy order to follow

PM.
Aye I can get in on that. I don't know timezones. You gotta set up the Body Pillow Podcast Steam group for non podcast shenanigans though.

I'm Mountain Time.
Once we get an audience there will be a steam group.

Audience is right here though. Well that's just how the groups set up I was in worked. When the Shelter was a thing people that frequented that group decided to make a Steam group so people can actually talk to one another.
I finished Monogatari: Second Season.
"I wasn't prepared for this" - Twilight Sparkle
All that talk about Gate made me want to reread it from the start again.
There's no way you guys wouldn't like it.

Lots of humor, great drawing (the ancient flame dragon looks awesome!) and an overall interesting story (which can be a bit of a slow burn, but the humor alone should motivate you to keep reading), lots of great waifu (Rory
) and a healthy dose of references (that Apocalypse Now sequence, and the best thing: they KNOW they are referencing it and are doing it exactly because it's awesome!!!).
Found a better online version of it.
I'll keep it in mind. Still, I have so many animes to catch up on atm.
Ok. For Bakemonogatari, the show makes no sense and total sense all at the same time.

Better start, because it will get an anime adaption starting June 30th ![]()
Any idea as to whether CR will have it?
Oh, also I just remembered I need to watch the new I don't understand what my husband is saying episode
No idea. Didn't look for that specific information as I don't use CR.
Here's a trailer (JP only).
Don't get the wrong impression though, it's not just about the JSDF fighting otherworldly invaders, that's literally only the first two/three chapters, the rest is exploring and interacting with the fantastical world beyond and the clash of cultures (also, the clash of politics, both between Japan and the other realm, aswell as Japan vs other nations that want a slice of the cake). Well ... and occasionally fighting of stuff like Ancient Flame Dragons, bandit attacks, etc.!
I also see they slightly changed some designs though it mostly appeared to be the weapons that Rory and Tuka use, plus Lelei's staff. Guess that can be chalked up to rule-of-awesome to make the visuals a bit more impressive, but eh, so far they aren't anything important so I don't see that being a big deal.
I don't speak Japanese, so is it like Log Horizon where they are trapped? Or did a gate from a MMO world somehow open allowing monsters into our world?

It's a gate to another world, a fantasy world to be specific. But unless there's a huge twist coming in the future of the manga, the world is real. No one is trapped, the gate can be accessed both ways. It was used by the Empire to try and conquer our world and when that was (quickly) repelled (thanks to moar dakka), the JSDF dug in on the other side to secure it.
Think of it more in the sense of Star Gate'ish than Log Horizon or the likes, except that the gate is static and only leads to this one world as far as the story goes so far.
Read the manga I linked, it explains everything (duh). It'll also appetize for more (or not if it isn't your thing). I'll say go and read at least volume 1 completely (first seven chapters that is), it's about the first contact and will clarify the set piece.
Yo. So like, Hyperdimension Neptunia's Blu-ray is fast approaching.
And that's gonna be great.

Started watching Cat Planet Cuties after I posted that swimsuit picture. Plot is pretty good so far.
I saw an interesting topic on MAL which was "Why is anime trying so hard to be edgy?" It's something I wondered about a lot, with JRPGs also to a degree, heck, even Japan generally.
I like the kind of (well, more) refined and classical presentation myself for the most part. I don't mean humorless or PC or something, but less just going for straight shock or gore or something.

A lot of media in general tries to be "edgy"
