Read the new Naruto and Bleach.

Both were awful. Especially Bleach. I complain about the lack of dialogue in it but then when it has lots it still feels just as pointless and a waste of time.

Why do I still read these? Because reasons.

100% backwards is still kind of damning. Now it's just racist against Japanese people instead. Just stop, and preferably before you want me to entertain the idea that it's just your idea of multicultural acceptance (oh, too late for that). I'm really not interested in talking about it anymore regardless.

As for the rest, sure, alright. Your definition of edgy is still wack. Glad you like Ghibli films I guess.

 

Hm well perhaps I didn't really make this clear, but I said that Tiger and Bunny has humor and cleverness you can't find in like KPOP or something, which is another way of saying it's a cool quality in Japanese things that is not often in other things. The most enjoyable things for me borrow the exciting elements from different cultures, never said any country was superior or something, I said the same thing every time which is that there are seedy freaking elements in anime and sometimes games that aren't my taste at all. If that reflects some aspect of Japanese society/culture than yeah I think that aspect is not for me. In the same way that I can't really stand aspects of American or SK society.

 

Honestly though you don't have to worry about me going on about it, I don't have to watch those anime or play those games, my point was really just that from my perspective the attempts at "maturity" often fail for the most part, and the incest moe loli land stuff seems as popular as ever, hence the post on MAL I suppose.

 

So skimming through the last two posts, Japan can't pull off maturity and innocence, or something.

 

It's just goofy as sin a lot of the time, I'm not sure that's a revelation. It's both a benefit (in the sense that characters are multi-dimensional and so on) and sometimes detraction (because I personally wish the characters show demonstrate more gravity/seriousness on occasion), from my perspective. Also lots of series demonstrate that the two aren't mutually exclusive (see, most classic anime, Ghibli, etc)

 

And yeah I don't think SK and America can pull off clever and have their own set of things I don't like (really don't like, even)

 

Anyway to illustrate the point I was searching through stuff and I came across Fate/Grand Order design and I realized someone already posted this here but  and while they're yeah kind of on the pervy strange side they also transmit a bit of a mature aura as well, as far as anime goes. The biggest thing is they're just always too young, personally want protagonists that are like 20 or something, even 22/24.
