Part of the point it tries to make is Saki doesn't know what the best solution for the future is but she's still willing to strive for it to be better, which is arguably more powerful and meaningful then a happy ending could be under the circumstances.

Same here. Many of the original book posts I ever made on the series were on SSY back when Mhmba was still here. Had some great chats on it.

I could easily toss up some new book posts on the series later tonight if I get a free moment cause damn I love talking about SSY and its sexy ending

I think i've got the full gist of things. I'm pretty good with piecing together complicated stuff. I just don't know how to describe it to others.

This weeks episode of Oregairu was great aswell! Not as good as last week but that's a hard thing to do but it was great on its own due to a few things. Hiki actually smiling so many times that when it struck me that I had lost count on how often he did smile. Then we got Yukinon partially melting a little bit from her very carefully crafted persona and opened up a little bit which was great to see. Would've loved a bit better build up for her telling Hiki about help at some point but it was still good but could've been better. Also just seeing the trio act friendly with each other again was cool to see and the studio managed to nail the awkwardness that exist after a few people reconcile. All these things are not amazing by themself but when combined and put into perspective of the struggle the characters have gone through and still do deal with, everything just showcase growth in large quantites.

Yeah, they should have handled Yukino's scene a bit better.

 

It does make sense later on in the LN why Yukino said that against Hikigaya. Volume 10 gives us some info into Yukino's family and more specifically her relationship with Haruno. Also some good bits on Hayama's past with Yukino.

 

But as someone that has read the LN I can say that it will be hard to surpass episode 8. Every anime/manga/VN/LN what have you has that one very powerful moment and I think that Oregairu's most poweful moment is the one we saw in episode 8. But I would be happy if Watari manages to prove me wrong in one of the upcoming LN Volumes of course!
