Wow I had forgotten about that OVA.
I know they changed some things from the game to make the story flow better, but does the story stay relatively the same as the game?

Tbh I haven't played the game.... I mean I wanted too, but never got my hands on it. I did play Tales of Vesperia though, which isn't relevant to this conversation but I thought I'd mention it anyway.

The story for the OVAs was really good, seeing as they're OVAs it did move pretty quickly and there were some time skips but it was done really well. Everything flowed wonderfully. In fact, I think because of this it didn't ever feel stagnant at any point - the story was always progressing.

The episodes themselves range from 30-50min each, there's three 'chapters' to the story - Sylvarant (4 eps), Tethe'alla (4 eps) and Sekai Tougou (3 eps). Sekai Tougou was a little slower, but there was a lot of tying up loose ends so it worked.

I also cried buckets. Easily made it into my top 10, tbh. o(^▽^)o

I watched Byousoku 5 Centimeter/5 Centimeters per Second a few weeks back (I think I mentioned my opinion earlier in the thread). It was nicely done, but also quite sad.
