Finished watching mushishi.

That show is surreal and bizzare, and sometimes nightmare fuel.

Watched no. 6. A really really well done bones anime as far as I'd tell by 2 episodes. Though there's this obvious shonen-ai-type pairing going on in undertones, it doesn't detract from the all-round style, pacing and real good quality ideas. Awesomely done. Story seems very strong. Character-portrayal is tops, convincing and there are some beautiful details.

It seems to be similar to 07-Ghost, but is done way better (07 was boring and bland really - also too much of that straight-forward shonen-type shonen-ai)!

Watched it here! (good HD streaming, quite a new place)

Should have held back with good words tho, never's good to go in expecting a lot.

It's praise partly "thanks" to so many shows disappointing with monotone.

edit: and one does need to be accustomed to dealling with shonen-ai in order to not find it frownworthy.

Yeah, I don't hold any particular sympathy towards that kind of stuff, but you do know how watching vast amounts of anime can really make one change his/her perspective on shows? Real-life implications are lost in anime, and it often enough becomes a maximally-fictional playground of arts. Makes one... tolerant of originality. In some shows I find it more difficult to just "accept stuff" though, as in Titans.

Anyway, the show arrived in my to-watch list at just the right time, given I've not seen anything but shonen lately. Oh, and Hyakka Ryouran Samurai Girls. That one is a really recommended one. In uncensored a masterpiece.

Though yeah, no depth to it. And it'd actually get a 7 or 8... in its own "genre"... bordering on hentai...

no 6 would get an 8 for sure tho. I just don't know what I like about it in exact, but it really does seem really professional and... different!

Naruto's plot continues to perplex me. All four of the Hokages just came back (despite them being sealed?) and so did Sasuke. And has that fight seriously not finished yet? It's been more than half a year!

Anyway, anyone got any anime they would recommend? Something short, preferably.

What am I even reading anymore? For all of how terrible Kishimoto's decisions in character design and development, they would at least be bearable if they were consistent. Sakura suddenly feels useful for having the exact same power she's had through all of part 2? Sasuke, after going crazy and vowing to be an evil dipsh!t from planet c*ck sent to destroy all troll ninja, now wants to be ninja president? Naruto just passively accepts this after hyperventilating over Sasuke's c*ck?

-Why does the fourth have fox power? The fourth should not have fox power. He never even owned a fox.
-Once again, Kishi's pushing the Naruto/Sakura thing, leaving the person who sacrificed her life in a declaration of undying love for Naruto in sort of an awkward place.
-I guess I should be somewhat relieved that the other ninja are calling bullsh!t, but it just makes me think more about how Sasuke is setting himself up for disappointment.

Well they may not be very similar story wise, but Gosick and Blast of Tempest are animated by the same studio and are very good (and Gosick has some elements reminiscent of FMA). Soul Eater is in the same boat but it's longer (52 episodes I think).

I've seen Soul Eater (really wish they would do a Brotherhood remake of it) but haven't heard of the other two. Thank you.

Posting update of viewed anime!.

Dantalian no Shoka. Starts out promising. Nice effort in the art-work and starts up with good pacing, but really takes a turn to follow a cliche device, gets unconvincing and fast-tracked. Enjoyable and real interesting in parts, but not as fulfilling as an anime should be.

Cyclops Shoujo Saipuu. Damn... . Damn.
I'm just amazed and happy seeing these utterly peculiar Japanese shows that have the qualities to make my jaw drop. Hen Zemi and Pugyuru were like that. Cyclops Girl-sister is definitely up there. Groovy.

@legion - Well, isn't too informative a thing to mention Fullmetal. Any other shows you've liked? Cause otherwise would want to recommend other classics. Gurren Lagann etc. You've probably watched well-known ones though... so... I'm at a loss finding suitable criteria to base recommendations on. :1

Remember that the fourth sealed the other half of the fox inside of himself before Death God took him. What you can call bs on is how he mastered it's chakra as he sealed the fox only a few moments before his death. Plus lol @ Naruto dumping on Hinata,  Sasuke wanting to be Hokage, and Hashirama shutting down Madara.

and yes it is, and I would DEFINITELY recommend that if you haven't seen it. One of my personal favorites.
