Season 1 isn't that important. Kind of just establishing the characters and their relationship. I'd recommend going through the Chuunin exam arc cause it's one of the better parts of the entire series. Otherwise all you need to know is Sasuke is incredibly whiny and is willing to do anything to kill his brother and Naruto considered Sasuke his true friend and you can jump right into Shippuden.

Very much this, as an adaptation it's going downhill fast but as show standing on its own it's well above average and something people really should give a chance. Great characters, mostly great visuals, good story and a couple of good tracks in the OST

I know it's bad in certain areas, but I can't help but like it. It may be because I grew up with the series, I like a lot of "terrible" shows because of that, but the completion of a story arc is something I have to do once I start. For me, that meant constantly watching/reading for the next arc. Action is also pretty ok.Are you talking about Naruto?

Plastic Memories episode 9 was pretty good. I like how the MC didn't become some angsty kid after the events in episode 6 and stays true to what he said even at this point in the story. It's also good to see that even though the anime had somewhat of a slow start it has only been getting better after that bad episode 5 that should burn in a fire. Episode 1-4 have been good but episode 6-9 have been even better.
I know one thing at this point. If they kill Isla off I'll be a mess.
Oh and I know I've mentioned this before but I love how they keep changing Isla's expression in the OP every few episodes.
The last one was especially adorable as you can see here.
