As someone who hasn't watched the series just saying a name by itself means nothing to me but OK...

 

Animation and OST is nice but can't carry much for me.

Characters, most of the time, make a show though. I watched every episode, because boredom, and thought it was ok. I don't think it deserves the hate it gets, but I understand why people hate on it. The only issue I have is the character personalities. Asuna is an exception because her arc in the second season was actually bearable looking back.

To be totally honest I will watch SAO one day out of total curiosity and/or boredom with anime in general cos man there ain't as much good shyt to watch like there use to.

 

Unless they make 20th Century Boys into an anime.

 

And adapt it perfectly.

 

Then anime would be saved.

SAO is good if you stop at Episode 14 (it even has ending credits after Episode 14 finishes for some odd reason), but I was a baka and didn't listen to House's warning and finished out the first season XD

It was a serious question earlier though. I'm interested to know why exactly people like the series so much because a lot of what I hear raises more concerns then anything.

 

Just understand that as someone who hasn't seen the series when you say "Asuna" that doesn't hold any weight behind it on its own.

Yo' Isi I know you prefer subs and all, but you're fair when it comes to dub quality.

Making progress on HF so I'll do a little mumbling here. Still on day 14 but damn damn damn, is it getting amazing.

Not sure if I mentioned it here or just to House and Isi but way back when, earlier in the route, I said "Part of me really wants to see Sakura snap." Her having been dragged through hell for the last 11 years, there's something satisfying in the thought process of seeing that play out. But at the same time, it's fascinating in that the other side of me *didn't* want that, because I feel for her in a lot of ways. So the point where she finally has snapped is well... kind of really amazing right now. I'm paused at the point where Shirou shows up just in time to try and save Rin from being a snack and the change from meek, kicked around Sakura is both terrifying and fantastic all at once for me.

 

Okay, time to get back to it. Obligatory /clapclapclap for how Nasu's worked with wormgirl.
