If anything, I've been pretty consistent with my hate of loli's and the (pointless) sexualization of minors in anime.

That entire arc + current events > the movie.

So.

He's not going to go back to gag as far as I can tell, it's been 40 chapters of nothing but serious arcs.

Also

He's tying up a bunch of plot threads. Gin's past, Sasaki's motives, Nobume's past, Takagusi, The Shinsengumi's origins and is now fleshing up Oboro as something more than just a 'big bad.'

Lots of important stuff.

All of it that would have been left unanswered by the movie.

Not saying the movie is bad, or whatever. It's just that it really isn't the send off you'd expect from a manga that's stretched its "main plot" through so long in its serialisation.

lol it doesn't do anything for Takagusi, Kagura's brother or any of the above I've mentioned. So as an ending, it doesn't really do much other than being totally frickin' awesome and super emotional.

ETA: But to give credit where it's due, Sorachi did find a way to wrap up Gintama and leave it open enough for new possibilities. So A++ on your story-telling, Gorilla-san.

God you'd hate the final battle in the Chimera Ant Arc.

I can tell it's the end with how many bridges that shirt wearing gorilla is burning.
I just happen to like open endings more.
I also love Time travel more than anything.

I don't like it when arcs drag themself out if you remember DBZ then recall I pretty much blanked out by the end of the Buu arc. If several chapters weren't saying they're the climax of the arc it'd be fine.

I don't think longrunning manga is for me.

Because HxH has captivated me so much right? I still got Yu Yu Hakusho to watch.

Personally I never thought it dragged out out at all, and I read this weekly. The pacing was fine, the interlude between falshback and current events was refreshing and it built up to a very satisfying conclusion for Gintoki's past.

 

Seriously, even comparing it to a DBZ evil Toei Pacing is kind of lulz. There was a great beginning, a great middle and a satisfying end.

 

But then again. I never thought RoTK dragged its ending at all.
