Oh, you enjoyed it? That's goood! Interested to hear your opinions. Weren't even bothered with the giant swords?
I don't have any issues with the swords.

In middle school the chance they would take it somewhere else existed. Didn't happen often but at least there were a slim chance
At least in middle school they could beat eachother up.
Sometimes violence is the answer.
Dudes always become bffs after a good fight.
I wouldn't mind a badge.
A smart one.
He returns!
Anyway
Pretty okay episode of Arlsan but...
The hypocrisy of hegemonic religion isn't really something I need to be told, but it's centring the Lustanian faction around the ins and outs of it.
Arslan as a character isn't as... uhhh... nuanced? As he was in the films? It makes his development way too predictable and the scenario they put him in was plain-ass stupid.
"I want to be useful"
*cue damsel in distress scene*
lolwtf especially given the context and the fact that y'know... HE'S IN HIDING!
FMAB's humour isn't really appropriate for the story. It doesn't feel right. She should have stuck to keeping it as slight as possible and not full-on 'cartoon-face' blasting Elric.
Then again...
The intrigue is fine
And how they are foreshadowing the obvious consequences of their largest goal (banning slavery) will be interesting to see played out. Slavery is a huge part of their culture and economy, and so far they have taken into effect the consequences of some political decisions.
i,e Kharlan.
The sword fight at the end was really well animated, so I'm glad that they'll keep a certain quality when it comes to choreography and stuff.
When it comes to politics, it's not exploring anything outside religion, so that's a shame. I can't really recall what the movies initially explored, but I think it's the same ol' stuff with the addition of slavery given that the movies move at a faster pace.
Speaking of which.
Yes, I understand it's going very slow. So that might put of some people. I'm glad they are though, since the movies moved so quick you weren't really aware of time and distance and blegh, couldn't care less about anyone in it.
I'm stil a bit annoyed by Archer using projection while in UBW. I mean, why even bother dragging Shirou into it in the first place then.
But what's done is done.
I KNEW IT!
I F*CKING KNEW IT!
"No way would Arakawa go for a dumb@ss sexist trope like 'damsel in distress."
They're already going for their own story now.
Lmao!
They're also changing things round, like reveals and such.

Sh*t man, the story even moves better with the manga.
Hahaha!
I'm just glad that it's not Arakawa's doing.
I love that woman too much.
Damsel in distress my ass.
I'd prefer just more swords than bigger, it ended up looking utterly ridiculous and the wrong kind of ridiculous
Let's be honest here people.
FSN UBW's episode 21 best moment was seeing our glorious overlord Shinji at the end!
So that he can do it in style of course.
Spoiler

Yeah, but it comes down to personal taste.
Yea, gonna go into this once I have the chance.
Well obviously it's going to differ from taste. Bound to be a decent spread on things like massive weapons and such
Giant swords are a cancer for UBW, and you should feel bad. I hope Radovid burns your waifu now.
Hell Shirou could have done his own rain of swords but lolnope. I don't know how the hell they will handle the climax now.
By throwing Giant swords at Gil obviously ![]()
Opinions are funny that way.
In any case, enjoying Vinland Saga. Glad that the manga has done some proper research on the viking era, since it has already dismissed some normal inconsistencies that most series tend to fall in with viking themed shows and such. Plus I'm digging the art style.
They are what make life so interesting!
Glad to hear Vinland has done proper research, bro has recommended it to me a thousand times so might give it a chance and hearing the words "proper" and "research" together is a very good sign

Silly House. Big swords is mandatory in anime. But honestly though, for projection magic I always wondered why everyone limits themselves to swords. Far better use of other means (especially since Shirou deflects everything Archer throws at him).
As for Radovid, he is not even the same person he was in TW2. Not one bit. Heavily mischaracterized, and my head hurts every time he talks. CDPR dropped the bomb with him (and I suspect Philippa as well).
Well it has done a good job so far. We'll see how it holds up as it goes along.
Because Archer and Shirou's mage origin is that of a sword.
When they use projection magic to create something that isn't a sword it will take a lot more mana.

Where are you now in the manga, Chewin?

Viking anime?
Consider me intrigued.
Manga.
Yo.
