Azula vs. Zuko is probably one of the most meaningful, well-animated duels that I have seen in my life. Period.

Not to mention she carry some very reasonable flaws given her upbringing. Appropriate flaws

Shirou surviving more than 2 seconds in UBW against a serious Archer should not be possible, even with all the plot shields in the universe.

 

It's redicolous no matter how you look at it. If he really wanted Shirou dead, he could have shot not 10 swords one after another (so he can block them) but 10000 at the same time.

 

A powered up Berserker doesn't have the reaction time and strength necessary to block all the weapons Gil is throwing around and Archer can top even Gil in the spamming department.

Perhaps in the anime but in the VN it makes sense.

 

The animes buffs both Archer and Shirou in some ways. I mean seriously

 

In Archer's case:

 

Saber: You almost have no mana left Archer!

Archer: I know but despite that I'm gonna use UBW with that HIDDEN MANA (oh and VN readers will know that him pulling out UBW is even sillier for more than just one reason)

 

And Shirou's problem in the fight isn't even the giant swords thing. The biggest problem is him being able to make backflips and danse around like that.

 

Seriously look at the Emiya moment in the VN and compare how Shirou fought in the anime to what is said in the VN

 

 

Also, Maria the virgin witch was a good anime when it came to the weapons and all of that but the characters really weren't all that interesting.

Oh yeah he certainly still is a tragic character and my favorite one at that.
