I actually think Archer remembering the events of the Fifth War is more tragic than him forgetting about it.
Edit: But then again, as far as I see it, he might have a new purpose now, even if the task doesn't change.

Will also admit he's on the Azula train partially because of Grey and partially because she's just generally an excellent character overall.

At least he still will be able to have his memories from the fight with Shirou.

That's...something.

Later.

And I think I'll write about what the Shirou / Archer conflict accomplished in its entirety of the show, instead of covering the episode only, so will take awhile.

Focus on TW3 first.

So Chewin what did you think of Shirou?

You did say that the episode could break him from a competent protagonist to a failure (I admit I don't remember exactly what you said but it was somethig along thos lines).

Don't think I will. I've gotten angrier and angrier the more it has progressed on the political stage in Novigrad ever since it got a stronger focus (because it is straight forward hollywood politics so far with petty revenge plots in the center of it) and what I have been hearing from people whose opinions I trust, the overall politics in the game is weak as hell.

So yeah.

Politics don't make the game, and I told you the North politics where streamlined and overall meh anyways.

Well he didn't reach the heights that I wanted, but neither did he disappoint me as I feared it would. I am content with it.

If the video Angel linked is the full fight in the VN, then I don't see the big issue.

Other than the anime being more unnecessary grandiose in its approach (with the VN being more "grounded"), all of the contents that got up in that video are in the anime. I actually think the anime is better, since it added Saber's and Archer's POV, which actually added a lot (especially Archer). VN seems to only have Shirou's POV and I think it suffers from it, since that video above didn't add anything new to the table, while the anime did.

Never said that it does, but for me politics are a major reason why I enjoy the series, since they are excellent. So for a sequel to suddenly generate this mediocrity of politics is a pure slap to the face, especially after everything TW2 established, which everyone seems to ignore because of stupid plot points like revenge and what not.

So on that area I am disappointed a lot, but not with it as a game.

Eh Dijkstra has a very good reasons. This is just CDP doing a poor follow up on why said character has very good reasons (which only comes up in the books) Which is a common complaint I have seen with non-readers and it is a very valid point. If you bring up characters and plots from the books, you should explain it properly.

After Ufotable botched it badly, I would not blame Chewin at all.

It's not like anime only viewers are unable to understand what Answer was trying to convey.

What would Jotaro think of Shirou after last episode? Let's ask him!

Yeah, just like I stated in the thread, TW3 functions more like a sequel to the books than the games, and what Djikstra says about Radovid contradicts everything TW2 accomplished.

Well it is a good thing they didn't.

Again, take my comment with a grain of salt since I haven't checked out the anime version yet but we do get a condensed version of Archer's POV in the after-credits segment in the VN called Answer. I'm hoping maybe UFOtable will properly include it maybe after the credits of the last episode but again, it's all monologue and such so who knows. Maybe they already spliced parts of it into the episode, I'll check it out whenever it comes up somewhere since I'm a free user on CR and well... :P

On a side note, I want to withhold my thoughts on Shirou's progression as a character until the end. I like the direction he is going, and his resolve is noteworthy, but I need to see how he will act once the adrenaline has left, and the battle has ended. It is in that silence after combat that is most important to me. He talks big now, but will he able to follow through?
