According to the definitive and indisputable source of anime ratings, MAL, it is a 7.8, which is solidly average.
On the other hand, **** taste MAL users gave Mahouka a 7.8, so yeah.

Not to start some **** but I find it kind of funny that people in this thread are starting to sound pretty similar from the outside to that guy from MAL they were complaining about vis a vis UBW a while ago.

Its an ecchi harem, that you already know. I found the show to be highly enjoyable and kinda wacky from time to time, with lovable characters like Nymph and Ikaros and it was something new to me at the time since I've been trying to broaden my horizon and watch other shows other than mecha like Gundam.
The plot, while somewhat generic, had both a light and a dark tone to it. HLP had very funny moments and very serious moments.
I guess I just kinda loved it. Ikaros became one of my favorite characters as well.

Well, there are some things that are objectively bad, no matter what.
Netflix knows better.Its best guess for me was 2.6, Netflix must think that Clones has better taste than us.

Ah well, I very highly doubt it's my sort of thing, especially since I despise harems and shun them as much as possible except for the Monogatari series.
Well, at the very least I'm glad you're enjoying something beyond Gundam shows. Good to expand your horizons and all that. There's a lot you should try if you haven't to really get a full look at what anime is capable of

Those are some incredibly solid ones imo. Maybe not your thing but I think they're good watches for really seeing what anime can do.

Although I don't watch as much anime on Netflix since my dad said he pops into my profile on our account from time to time. Which is why I watch Ouran on KissAnime instead.
My dad being the guy who upon seeing me playing Neptunia gifted me Sakura Spirit to me on Steam.

Putting that person aside I don't seriously understand the hate MAL gets just as a review aggregate, aside from the low hanging fruit of pointing at how dumb the people who gave the ratings are. (yeah I do it too, see previous post) It's the same as any other site that has user reviews.
Never checked out the forums though.
I don't hate MAL, and like you I haven't checked the forums although I've heard bad things.
I just don't take it that seriously for overall ratings personally. I mean I don't always disagree with it but I trust the peoples recommendations (some of them at least...) more then I'd trust what they give high ratings for.
I mainly just use it to keep track of my anime

I think people are genuinely impressed by how bad it is.
MST3K sort of thing.
Now this I find believable.
When I see Geth telling people to watch it I think to myself: Is he just telling us to watch it because he's bitter he saw it and wants everyone else in the world to suffer the way he suffered?
