So I finished watching Berserk just half an hour ago (last night and this morning I've been watching Episode 19-25). I'm happy that I didn't watch the great eclipse episode last night! Thus Episode 1 makes sense to me now. I totally hate Griffith. I'm still in shock. That jerk sold everyone out horribly to gain power, and it was all his own wish (will) >:(

Very dark atmosphere, Interesting characters in the band of the Hawk. The Demons I don't understand. Nude scenes are too much (now I can't give this anime to my sister and cousins to watch!) At least they're not as crappy and extreme as nude scenes of typical anime of recent years. Score: 9/10

So which Manga should I read to follow Guts' story? or Is there anything watchable after the Great Eclipse?

Glad you liked Berserk!
Which manga? The godlike Berserk manga. From start to finish it differs, and is greater I'd say. Also the manga goes a way past Great Eclipse.

There're also anime movies they're making now. 3 have been run in cinemas. It's a bit worse off in my honest opinion, than the original anime, and less extreme. But you should watch them if you're a fan of Berserk. Most definitely. :)

@euroru, thanks :)

I don't have a grand anime project right now. I may watch the first episodes of some anime to find the interesting ones, alongside watching One Piece now and then. I may look for Dragon Ball Z and Space Battleship Yamato.

I'd normally recommend looking for the original Dragon Ball before Dragon Ball Z. In your case, maybe not as much, but still. The original series is better done and introduces to its humor. :)

I just caught up on Nanatsu no Taizai. It's really good so far and has a lot of potential.
Ban is my favorite character so far, mainly due to them showing his back story.

Anybody besides me try paying attention to this for the story?

I have never cared about ecchi, don't know why, so I guess I watch it for the plot. It can get pretty interesting. The hiatus is over, and a new chapter was released starting April. I kinda hope they would start killing main characters to make the series more unpredictable like the Walking Dead, never thought Andrea would bite the dust so soon.

So I'm finally about to start reading Jojo's Bizarre Adventure, but I was wondering should I watch the anime then start reading from where the anime left off or just read all of the manga straight through?

I planned on doing that with Rosario + Vampire but I don't think the anime is as extensive as the manga so I was probably going to be missing a few plot events anyway.

Read the manga straight through. Because the first arc's been trimmed down severely in the anime to get to the adult stages of the characters ASAP. So many character establishing moments is cut as a result. Plus, the anime will have most likely advanced quite a bit in story arcs by the time you've caught up to the manga.

The cute little sister character type should go away and never come back.

99% of loli characters should go back and never come back.

The ecchi and loli's and incest is what is ruining anime and giving it such a bad public image.

Why do you think most poeple associate anime/otaku with perverts?

From what I heard the Rosario + Vampire anime turns a pretty good story into a bad fan service anime.

Which is a shame since I enjoyed the first season of the manga, I need to get around to reading the second season.

@Galvanization  Ok thanks.

This really reminds me of the Family Guy episode.

Anyone reading Zettai Karen Children? It seems like a X-men rip-off, but I like the comedy overall. I heard they're getting a second season.

It's on my read list after Jojo, Berserk, and Fist of the north star.

What makes it come across as an X-Men rip-off?

Might read it after finishing Shamo, if it's not too derivative.

I think one of the things I like about Zettai Karen Children is that asides from the female protagonists, they are pretty anti-shounen. It's one of my favorite series at the moment. I was hoping that they would explore the "normal" factor more. I like how they tell you from the beginning that the main characters would change factor and join the bad guys in the future. The whole series seems to be about changing the future.

This series is about "mutants" (in this case, people with ESP, a.k.a. espers). They are being targeted due to their special power, and normal humans are afraid of them, in extreme cases, form groups called "The Normals" specifically to kill them. There is also a Magneto character who wants to destroy all humans to create a haven for espers.  The series seems to be about changing the future. The government were able to use their espers to predict the future, and they find out that their strongest espers, the 3 female leads, will join the terrorist group created by "Magneto" in a fight between normals and espers. In the end, the bomb sets off and destroy the world. The series is pretty much about changing the future, and the story will span from when the female leads were just kids to when they become full-grown adults. It's pretty interesting. People should read it. The plot is very different from the usual shounen in the market today.

One part in the future they just can't seem to change is when the male lead (Minamoto) is forced to shoot the female lead (Kaoru). It seems to be the biggest clue in how to change the future.

Yes I agree too.
I searched to understand what are ecchi and loli (lolita?). Yes, hentai and those two are what make anime disreputable.

I always thought Japanese right-wing politicians were the ones giving anime a bad public image.

But yeah Soronnar is kind of right, for once. Hentai stuff should stay in hentai.

Hentai not so much - it's clearly marked and marketed and you KNOW what you get and it's for a niche audience.
You can easily avoid it.

But this fanservice/loli stuff is creeping in everywhere.

Well I'm fine with fan service as long as it doesn't completely take over a story. Like HoTD was pushing it, but a few upskirts or boob jiggles every now and then are what ever. I mean if you look at even some of the endless battle shounen, the guys have their shirts off all the time. Seriously, who here didn't grow up on Goku's cookie nipples? But that's just my opinion, no need to go spreading it around.
