So much amusing stuff to catch up on. X3 Regarding MAL, staying away from the forums is a pretty good idea imho.  In the few times I've ventured that route, it's been an experience, that's for sure. I actually recently switched over to Hummingbird myself and I rather like it. Amusingly enough, it has two rating systems, three smiley faces or an out of five star rating. Me, I prefer using the smileys cause not only does it crack me up but I also don't have to really worry about how high I'd rate a series. If it made me happy, it'll get a smiley face, if I was indifferent, it gets an :| and if it was less than stellar, frowny face all the way. Makes my life easier.

 

Now with that out of the way, HF update. Day 15:

There, that took a while to think up and put into words. Okay, for serious now. Before a headache came squished my brain up, I started the conversation where Illya starts laying things out about the grail, the war, everything like that. Probably going to go back and re-read the beginning of it even though I left off at a point that wasn't too !!!, just because the headache made focusing difficult. Though the point I left off on was rather fascinating (Heaven's Feel creating a plane of existence) so I'll be making more progress on that later and will probably chime in about it proper afterwards. The fact that Zouken's wish is still, after 200 years, the same wish that started everything in motion between Einzbern, Makiri and Tohsaka amused me far too much in that our current masters have their own goals and such, but immortality always was that far off dream all families wanted a piece of. I think I'm getting closer to the point where Angra Mainyu is finally going to get a proper introduction so I'm fairly excited for that. Amused that Illya's wording on the matter when bringing up Avenger made it sound like "Welp, here's another time my family fucked up..."

 

Finding out about Kotomine's past was pretty amazing. I mean he's always been based priest to me but having his broken nature spelled out was pretty amazing. But that's kind of the heart of FSN for me so far. Say what you want about ideals and while yes, it really is a big point to the story as a whole, I've been feeling since UBW that it's more a tale of regret and considering a lot of you know that PST is a very important story to me for the same reasons, that knowledge is something that embeds FSN pretty deeply into my heart.

 

HF really is like a ticking bomb and holy hell, my body is both ready and not for the climax.

Anyway.

 

Finished Space Dandy.

 

I think it was rather brilliant.

 

I mean, it won't go on my top ten, but you gotta give credit where its due.

 

It excelled at what it wanted to do and added great twist in the end which pretty much explained how Dandy lives after he supposedly dies (like the first episode.)

 

I like shows like that. I mean, if you wanna be something you be that something and be the best at doing that something, right?

 

It's a shame that it's so short, but the ending didn't really leave me begging for more. The way it's written tho' could've given us a long-running episodic adventure like Gintama.

 

Visuals and animation were top-notch, that last episode was too freaking good. The dub was on FMAB levels, and only a few will get that much praise. Everyone fit their role perfectly and the dude who did Dandy looked like he was born for it.

 

I hope Watanabe will get his film. I'll be buying this to support him.

 

Final verdict for S1 and S2 combined? I'm tempted to give it a 10/10, the first season's predictable episodes and a few bits and pieces here and there make it a 9 or 9.5. It helps that S2 is way better than S1 (as it should be.) The only complaint being that Gorilla-sensei flipped 180 degrees in character at the end.
