Still a shame that they skipped as much as they did. The only reason Hikigaya managed to get as close in the race to Hayato as he did was because in the LN he asked for Saika's and Zaimokuza's help to stop the others from getting to close.

Death Parade, both it and Oregairu are two shows I added after they had started to the shows that I watch ongoing. Meaning that neither caught my initial interest. Did add DP after 3 episodes thanks to hearing far too much good about it and Oregairu was added.. 2 episodes in for the sole reason to fill a spot. It's done more than that at this point!

That's certainly true.

 

Hikigaya meeting Saki's sister and keeping her company until Saki arrived was also something they cut which I would have loved to see (because seeing Hikigaya's father side is so great). They're still keeping all the important things intact though so I can't complain.

Would've absolutely loved having that scene since it allow Hiki to show a side of him that he doesn't often get to do. But as you sau and since you've actually read the LNs nothing essential feel missing. Yup. I'm overall very happy with S2. The only episodes that were rushed were 1,10 and 11 but even though they were rushed the scenes they didn't show weren't really plot important enough that people that watch the anime couldn't enjoy it.

 

It's going to be pretty weird to watch the second half of ep 12 and ep 13 not knowing what will happen though.
