Great UBW episode! They got Gil right with the flashback, as well as two of the fight scenes. Ufotable did great! And next time will be even more awesome!
Wonder what Chewin thinks of Gilgamesh thus far, considering he said he would wait and see how he turns out to be. Would love to hear his impressions on what Gil said. Speaking of which, where the hell is the guy?

You do realize I "****" on Berserk because I get constant **** from all of you about the things I enjoy right?
Shoe on the other foot sorta thing. You personally don't do it as much, but there is a large amount of harassment and elitism directed at me, especially recently. If you all were a little more respectful I'd probably go into Berserk with a better mindset.
But right now, the work is tainted in my eyes. So yeah.

I also don't remember Clones complaining about Berserker. I remember him hating Gil and disliking Garcher but not Berserker.
Well he did complain a lot about Guts, before even coming far in the story.
The funny thing is that Gil is actually classed as Chaotic Good.
In retrospect, Gilgamesh isn't a bad person. He just hates current society alot (can't blame him really) because alot of people are completely useless, while his time period was a time when everyone had a purpose.
He even talked about slaves in a respectful tone.
Well it is a bit convoluted with Gil. I mean, him in UBW could be considered bad by our moral standards. But for me personally is not about him being bad or good, but simply him having a surprising amount of depth to him, despite coming across as rather generic.
But Fate universe (especially F/SN) is a bit of a deconstruction of several elements, Shirou as a shonen /harem hero, Gil and Kirei as villains, etc.

He is literally a walking cliche.
By todays standards, everything is a cliche. Your point?
