Monster Musume the anime is likely going to be somewhat mediocre but it will be fun to watch either way. Got so low expectations on the adaptation that it shouldn't be possible to disappoint. Lots of room for surprise!

Speaking of HF

Reached day 13 on the route and it's very clear that I vastly prefer this route over the other two. Fate.. and I will never ever be on good terms and that's fine. UBW got Caster which I just love but Shirou in that route still doesn't really ever leave the apathy stage with me even if he do move quite a large distance forward. Archer and Rin do make that route even better.

HF got a Shriou that I like, it got a storyline that I find way more interesting than the one in UBW which is kinda great on its own. HF is messy, dark but it got some really sweet moments and I've come to care a great deal abotu Sakura. Illya has also been a delight to be around and the sibling relationship with Shirou has so far been great with Illya singing when they walk home with the groceries being the current best moment. Do also love the forshadowing about what will one way or another happen. Will probably not finish the route tomorrow but it's been a genuine blast to go through this route. 

 

But HF has got that "evil/corrupted variant/counterpart" thing, which is one of the worst tropes to ever exist.

Assassin is almost dead at this point, he will disappear soon and thus parts of his body under his clothing (he shows them to her  before he fights Saber in the VN) where already gone,one of his hands is pretty screwed up and his sword was not in good shape. During their fight(which the anime pretty much glossed over) the sword is bent. So when Assassin goes to do his move, there is a gap that Saber see's and because Rin is her master(which puts Saber close to her true potential) she is able to dodge it barely and slash him. Assassin considers this a honorable death as he was able to die in combat.

 

Anime ignored it and thus it now feels like an asspull.

Comparing yourself to a character who repeatedly screws himself over due to his own overconfidence is probably a bad idea. Just saying.

I don't see how a bent sword, which would be a major disadvantage for the wielder to strike an accurate blow (which is highly important), is considered stupid.

It fits within the established lore and within swordsmanship. It should just from those two fit within "muh realizm"
