For some context, Won Sul uses his killing intent (ki) as a blade.

If you didn't read Shin Angyo Onshi, please do so in the future as it's a classic.

Finally gotto watch the new Yaharu because FFFansubs was in disarray. It was as good as ever, but I had some trouble understanding what the conflict of the episode was until towards the end, but that semed intentional based on the character intereactions.

Also, I just got The Garden of Words and will watch it soon. Pretty hyped for that.

Aaaaand finally, not technically anime related, but Lumina is now best goth loli:

Just finished The Garden of Words. It was beautiful, both artistically and in terms of the narrative. Then again, romance buys a lot of stock in enterprise that is my opinion, especially unconventional romance.

spoilers: the titans turn out to be humans and the humans are sentient titans.

Thank you Homebound. We were all waiting for that to happen.

Luckily, we're pretty much an informed or uninterested in Titans' group so this won't deliver a backlash or crying I'd say.

For a week now, I'm a big fan of Shingeki no Kyojin (attack on titan).

Sasha Braus is awesome. If the writer kills her off, I ragequit.

I found this show absolutely fascinating till about episode 7/8...then I just flipped a table and said wtf.

Sasha Braus is easily the best character though lol.

So, Occult Academy ended up being pretty decent. It had a few negatives (such as a lack of focus and pacing), and a few positives (such as a good premise and okay characters). Either way, I'd say it was worth watching.

Mashima couldn't even let him be dead for a single chapter.
This series is so bad, I am actually choking on my laughter.

"Oh wait! What if I grab Juvia, and drag her out of the way? Gray, you're a GENIUS!"

I also love how this happens BEFORE he gets the vision of his impending death

Jesus this is bad. I might retract my "FT is so blandly meh that its meh" statement, in favor of "FT is so blandly meh that its painful."

And lol at Ultear freaking out "My life is only worth one minute."

I don't know what is about me and anime, but there are certain ones that I love listening in English and others I prefer with the original, for example - Ghost in the Shell, I prefer the original, where as Princess Mononoke, I prefer the English dub, Akira - original, Cowboy Bebop - English.

I do understand the mindset of "original" being better, but for me personally, it's all preference. I'll usually watch both regardless and decide which one I connected with better.

You shouldn't, it's a pretty stupid mindset. Moreso when it's formed around the basis of "Because English just sucks". Only when significant plot points or character behavior/dialogue gets lost in translation should it be an issue.

You know personally I have found it harder and harder to enjoy most anime these days. I feel like the majority starts with an interesting setting and ideas coupled with vast potential yet it's is almost always squandered and ends up dissapointing.

Although that might just be because I grew up watching old anime such as Legends of the Galactic Heroes, Crest of the Stars, Outlaw Star, Guin Saga and etc. space opera and epic fantasy has been neglecting genres as of late.

Well, I've watched a lot more anime films, compared to full blown episodic animes.  Since I'm a huge fan of Studio Ghibli, I tend to search anime that are in the same type of expression in a sense, but I do like certain large animes, like DBZ until the end of the Cell Saga, after that, it doesn't connect for me, like the earlier works.

I think it depends on how long the series is, like for example - Elfen Lied episodes are what, 13 plus the OVA?  For me, I'm very busy the last year and I don't have the time to commit to watching animes that have so many episodes because I'd feel like I'm not going to be as attatched to them as I'd like to be.  If I only have time to watch them on the weekend or so, I'd feel disconnected.  Even certain games have that affect on me as well, like Ni No Kuni, I stopped playing (even though I loved the game) because I didn't have the time and I'd like to be able to really dive in and adsorb what I'm playing.

Arise!

Meh!

Just don't like the pacing, some of the elements ("heavily cyborg"... appearing out of shadows etc) and the overall art-work (faces are two-dimensional and shiny, environments pretty boring). But most of all, this origin story just seems ad hoc and a stretch.

@J.Reezy - well, the reason for the bias towards English VA is mostly that 90% of the times something expressed is lost and distorted even, OR that the VA simply does a less professional job. Though yeah, I guess that last one can be judged differently all in all.

Bebop VA is great. As is, for example, Haruhi's. That's the only anime ever to have a more fitting and expressive dub imo. Though it *was* necessary for me to see the original as well, wouldn't have it any other way, regarding to it being, well, the first and culturally uniform rendition.
