Recommended stuff for an initiation to DB universe! Or whenever really - shows at least what DBZ came from if nothing else (yet as I've overly repeated, the dub for that one's pretty much the most evil dub ever)...

Yes, I love the original Dragon Ball. I've watched everything DB related, but I personally dislike the Buu arc and GT. The only shining point for me in the Buu arc was Vegeta's atonement and showcasing that Gohan was the strongest non-fused character in the series. Otherwise, I thought most of it was silly, but I did enjoy Buu as a villian mind you. It's just the whole "Goku wins again" and making it seem like turning Super Saiyan was a joke, when young Trunks and Goten (?) I forget the name were able to do it without really anything.

I guess that's a pretty common view! Though I personally felt Buu sillyness was a bit similar to DB.

Oh Valverave, so bad its good! I mean Yolo and Rape. Or rather a AI mind raping the guy, who rapes the girl that wanted to sleep with him anyways and then half way at the start of it enjoyed it and it ends with him waking up with his clothes ripped to shreds and her on the net.

I just found out that Oda's 2 week hiatus was due to him being hospitalized. Also this page from this week's chapter gave me a good laugh...

According to Kishimoto, Oda was drawing next chapters while he was bedridden in the hospital.
Kishi saw the pages at the hospital room... so I guess he went to check up on Oda at the hospital.

My brother and I just finished Daily Lives of High School Boys, and it was one of the funniest anime we've ever seen. It's full of so many good and funny characters. I hope it get a second season and that the live-action movie is good.

As for last week's manga.

With Bleach based on how this is going I'm starting to wonder just how powerful the Vandenreich are going to be and how weak was Aizen if Ichigo beat him with only a fraction of his true power.

With Fairy Tail lol at one minute and goodbye to Ultear and her terrible character arc. She went from the second most hyped villain next to Zeref to whatever she was before she died.

Naruto was meh and both one piece and toriko were good.

A bit mixed feelings.
Atmospehre is good, art is good, action is good.

What I don't like:

- main character designs. Them huge eyes. Also, kids. Love the other, more mature characters.
- Mikasa. Never liked the "emotionless girl" and even less when paired with "super-extra-talented kid"
- teleporting super-titan? WTF?
- magical size transformations and super-regenrations (there shouldn't be magic in this setting..right?)

Were you to have experience in the field, I'd say you'd not be bothered by Mikasa. Only gripe I have with her is that she's made out "not normal" in the series because SPOILERS of her childhood.

I always have a problem with "greatest in the whole history of forever" characters. Wether super-swordmasters or ace piltos or whatever, when they are so raised to the stars and made uber-incredible and make battles look effortless.....frank that.
