Took me a while but I finally caught up on Fairy Tail. Besides the lack of death this series isn't too bad. I'm gonna start watching the anime again. I stopped on whatever episode the English dub stopped.

I would hold off on that till this summer they are reairing all of the eps but editing in blood and such. In prep for S2, its to tide people over so the manga can get ahead. Though I think/hope its more than 1 ep a week.

I have enjoyed anime in the past. I am mostly familiar with the ones showcased on Adult Swim, such as Ghost in the Shell, Cowboy Bebop, Fullmetal Alchemist and Bleach. Does anybody know of shows that are similar to those?

i am afraid to look read this thread with Attack on Titan spoilers...
I didn't want to watch the show until it was over cause I hate having to wait for a whole week for every episode but eventually had to give in to the hype and the fact that I was accidentally spoiled (Eren's mother dying), gonna watch the rest of the airing episodes tomorrow
Evangelion is a superficially obvious alternative to Ghost in a Shell, both have cyperpunk elements (though Eva isn't entirely) and robots and psychological aspects. While they aren't very alike on the whole, they do give similar vibes, and Eva is like one of the most important and beloved animes ever so watch it anyway. And Ergo Proxy too (one of my favorite shows). Although, in regards to Evangelion, you can simply watch the 'Rebuild Evangelion' movies, which is a retelling of the series with obviously much better animation and all.
Obviously, you got One Piece and Naruto as alternatives to Bleach and to an extent FMA, but as a shorter example and a much more stylish, over the top manner, there's Gurren Lagann (one of my favorite shonens)
