And there are different kinds of sexy. I thought the naked stealth in the first GitS movie was a lot more novel and 'classy' than the tacky thong uniform.

Also if the series is stylish in a exaggerated sort of way I think it's fine too. Like One Piece fanservice is mostly fine. One Piece has such exaggerated everything that big secondary sexual things fits. The guys are all rippling with muscle and often forget to button up shirts. I mean what is Franky if not a cartoon of male physical libido? And even a game like Skullgirls is fine too.
Really fanservice doesn't really bug me that much unless it's over the top and excessive.
But then again... I would be fine with more stuff like this.

While that kind of fanservice is tolerable (else it would be hard to enjoy 99% of anime and "mature" games) it does cheapen it IMO.

Meh, most of the time Shouza is dressed in her operations gear anyway. So that fanservice'y outfit is hardly as present in the anime IIRC as to become annoying or forced upon someone imho. Heck, it even gets lampshaded big time in one episode.
But if that's how you feel about it, well, it's your opinion and all, no point in trying to talk you out of it. All I'm saying is that GitS does not destroy its own reputation with lots of skimpy outfits.
And in my honest opinion, GitS and everything along with it (well, not the new series they're making, that artstyle is horrible imo) is THE premier anime among those I have seen and by now I've seen a decent share.
It's most basic question is quite intriguing and the other topics it picks up along the road are equally intellectually deep. All that is seasoned with good story, very good character design (bar few exceptions, poor Borma), solid villian design, a mature, accurate artstyle (not some loly ****), lots of action, great animation, a good chunk of humor (TACHIKOMA!!!!) and last but not least a healthy dose of fanservice.
What's not to love about that?

I like the way they handle fan service in Monogatari series.
that it does partner, that it does.

^ 8man is one of the most relatable characters I've seen in a SoL anime. Now I'm not sure if that speaks more to the creator's skill, or to my own social ineptitude, but it still makes the show even better than it would still otherwise be.
Definitely. The writer is pretty good as the show is pretty layered.

Also lol at how Obito is a 30 year old dreaming of his one true love, a 12 year old, before his death.
Good times.

I did start reading Trigun though. The panel layout seems... Hmmm... cluttered? I liked it, don't get me wrong. I just had to reread sometimes because it was a bit hard to realize what had just happened. Maybe that's just me though. I'm not really used to a battle series. I've only just realized I don't own any.

I finished the beast that was Persona 4 and took a look at the anime. I'm surprised on how well they've executed some of the scenes.

So...I've started watching something called "Yusoga no Sora" at the recommendation of someone from MAL. They said since I liked OreImo that I'd probably like it....I will say that I'm quite fond of the tutukar character Sora, but jesus christ this show is more...porny(?) than KissxSis, and that's a pretty commendable (or maybe reprehensible) feat.

It took me watching the anime to learn how to acquire some of the other Arcana. I don't know if that's funny or frustrating. I was like, "Son of a b*tch! So THAT'S how you get that Arcana."LegendaryAvenger wrote...

I know that feeling. I tried my best to avoid walkthroughs and felt empty realizing that I went the entire game without Death and Strength.
