I went to see Tatsumi yesterday (by the on-going anime festival where I also saw Berserk the movie). It really surprised me with the quality of production, and overall value.

Highly recommended to anyone who likes a good story, much info about the history of manga, more specifically about a ground-breaking mangaka who began making very dark manga, already in the 70's, and maybe to those who think anime and manga is a shallow cultural fad (it isn't ;)).

Hmm I just don't know, I'm a huge anime and manga fan. I've seen litterally well over 200 anime titles. So it grieves me in a way no anime is on the air minus old rerurns at ungodly hours. And funny enough of those none were hentai lulz. As to Manga I'm some what into it. Only problem is no salers of it here so I look to online sources Naruto and Bleach both have gotten lame. Black Lagoon is on a break...unknown how long, several other good series are being cracked down on, and fan sub sites for the most have computer aids ads. So I've left that scean.

I was surprised when Hulu had anime on XBL then when its 1 dollar an ep *lul FUUUUUUUUU* I can just BUY the dvd sets for that if I look around. And the Manga Entertainment was up "Oh snap!" then ever 7 minuets a much louder commerical, the same commerical. So meh unless toonami or anime unleash comes back I just have little reason to watch tv, as to buying the shows, well back from my days at the Otaku Army Spin off site of Anime Unleashed when TTV got axed.

"Anime, Drugs would be cheaper."

If you are talking about the lack of anime on Cartoon Network, it's because they do not make as much money off anime anymore. The shows Cartoon Network makes will get them the full cash. They also hate anime too... I hope they get Toonami back someday.:?

As for the manga side of things, if you liked Naruto and Bleach back when they were good, you should look up both One Piece and Hunter x Hunter(most of the good parts of Naruto were a rip-off of HxH anyway). Best thing about both of them is that they never get bad like Naruto and Bleach, they only get better.

Actully thats not true untill comcast swung around and a few others like it Anime was out earning and out viewing most late night talk shows. Then AS pulls the crap of moving shows to 2 and 3 am and yells SEE NO ONE IS WATCHING!

Well Gee I wonder why?.... But your right on them hating anime, AS has actively and reapetidly mocked anime fans, and when TTV went under they were happy as it ment less shows were needed. Thats also when Toonami went under though it had high raitings. Then if you look at the shows CN has now. Yeah I can see why they love bigger profits I mean a show that took 5 dollars effort must make a massive return even if only a thousand people watch it.

Its like Scifi's Anime monday (which ended up being removed unannouced and was purposely aired in a horrible time slot), it was mostly unknown or crappy shows, endless reruns, and a far too flexible line up where the next week something else not even anime would be on. Then it moved to later hours, had advertisements making fun of it. That was ment to fail so they could go "oh well we tried" halfassedly. In fact the person in head of the block actively hated and direspected the shows. Monster was the only thing the showed worth watching and even then they didn't want to air new eps.

As to OP and Hunter, I know of both, got bored of them around the same time as the other to. OP is just real slow at current and makes no sense, like Naruto and the Zombies versus ninja War.

What I mean on the money thing is that Cartoon Network can't get the full cash on anime, since they did not make the anime(TV is odd like that).

As for the rest of the stuff, yeah I know all about that.

And I have no clue what you mean by One Piece being slow and making no sense right now. It's really nothing like the zombie war carp from Naruto. Also what made you get bored by them?

I don't know about CN and don't care really (in my opinion, it's perfectly good to torrent if no-body's selling, which is the case in my homeland, even funimation won't ship nor show - though personally I'd argue that even in the case someone's selling it wouldn't dent the number of bought copies, vice versa), but the really excruciating thing is that there isn't any quality new anime out there and I know not why.

Masterpieces were made in the period of the 90's til 2007, after this there have been none.

Well for people like me in the U.S. it's better to buy the good stuff so they well keep making the good stuff. I hate to pirate anime or manga if I can help it, since anime makes very little as it is. Why do you think there are so many bad anime shows(like Needless) nowadays that try to get every demographic they can get? or use tons of fanservice? It's not that they are out of new cool ideas, it's because they are out of cash and can't afford to do anything new. So they play it "safe" with this crap(again Needless).:?

Also there have been masterpieces since the 80's.

Once more, the only anime on right now that is any good is the new Hunter x Hunter anime. And that's only because HxH is great to begin with.;)

Uhh last place I read was at the undersea kingdom where the queen tried to have him killed for that prediction she had. It was right shortly after the death of white beard. Just all the crammend panels and stuff, I just went "meh" eventually. Stoped reading.

There have been a few good shows post 2007 but they are hard to find. Code Geass I rather liked, but there are others just hard to find out about. Japan has been more closed off as of late in a manner.

There was no queen that wanted anyone dead in the Fishman Island arc....:? I think you mean Sharley the fortune teller, and guess what? she didn't want anyone killed either. For you thinking One Piece right now makes no sense, you are the only one not making any sense here.=] I don't know about you but the panels were fine imo.

And the pacing for that arc was more fast than slow. Like after all these years of the fans wanting to see Fishman Island and the writer just wants to show it to us all really fast and get it over with. It also did not help that the villain for that arc was purposely a terrible villain. But the great flashback, Jinbe being a badass and seeing the Strawhats new power ups, made up for the bad stuff of the arc.

Anyway the new arc so far is much better, you should try to get back to it sometime.

Well I don't know what she was damnit, all it was is he had to leave the island or some such and she was flipping out over it, this was moooonths ago. Besides my point stands Not many fan subsites now are safe to go to really. So meh done with Manga. I used to read hellsing and a few others but they have vanished from most fan subs. And I just don't have the cash to buy. So I think I'll just wash my hands of manga at least.

Yeah an owner of a cafe sure does come off like a queen.=]

She was flipping out because she saw a vision of the destruction of Fishman Island by a man with a straw hat.

You can also use the site in my link if you want to get back into reading manga. If you don't want to read any more manga, what a pity.

Well I didn't know she seemed important, you don't expect owners of a Cafe to be all mysterious mages and such...oh well maybe it is the little people you need to watch. I'll remember this lesson when I rise to power and burn every cafe to the ground out of fear of witch craft.

And Holy Roller skating Banana's batman a mangasite without aids infecting PC ads! *goes to look*

Oh she is important in her own way, just not a queen.:innocent:

And it's a cafe under the sea I don't expect anyone or anything to be normal there.

And happy to help with the site, until Viz kills it.;)

Sorry for this post but I wanted to let people know some news I just saw, Toonami is back! It's still going to be the same shows that AS has(I think), but it's still a good step in the right direction.

I'm happy at this revelation. That just made this entire week better for me, since my allergies have made me feel miserable.

@Geth

About torrenting, you ignored my point. There is no legal Funimation or any other anime in my country.

Also, it doesn't make sense that making a crap anime with high production value (as they do constantly) would cost less than making a good one. In fact, most have a larger budget than the oldies did.

Though I do agree on supporting the great ones - and I'm sad I cannot do that here (btw, the most avid pirates are most avid spenders - not saying I'm one or that it's lawful/justified).

But it's surely good news that Toonami is on! :)
Congrats!

Oh no, I know you can't buy them, but I can. That's all I was saying.

I am not saying it would cost less to make a crap anime, I am saying it's the only thing that makes them anything. So they will keep making them and not try anything new or cool.:?

My view on being a pirate is, don't do it unless it's the only way to see the show. You can also be a pirate if you want to find the One Piece.=]

As for Toonami, I hope with it back, some cash will go to Japan(like in the past) so we can get some good shows again.:wizard:

Hahaha. I wanted to bring that in. :)

Also, people can get more exposure to (hopefully decent) anime! :wizard:

Do you know what specific shows they'll show?

Hope that means more of an anime line up. But part of me worries that you'll turn on the TV the at that time and a huge like Troll face will pop up and go "hahaha did you really think we'ld bring this crap back?"

That I would totally NOT put past Adult Swim to do. Hope I'm wrong though.

Adult Swim just got a bit more important for me with the Toonami announcement. Besides Bleach (which I barely watch because it's filler season), I haven't really paid attention to Adult Swim.

Well most people are thinking for the new shows they will have(maybe) are Panty & Stocking(that would work well), Tiger & Bunny(since they are dubbing it), High School of the Dead(meh), Inuyasha: Final Act and Baccano!(that would be great).

I hope they could put One Piece on and for something old they could get YuYu Hakusho back. And in a year or so someone(Viz?) could dub the new Hunter x Hunter anime and get that on.

Even if some of the shows they will have are not the best, it's still a start. Hell Toonami could make a show like Gundam Wing look waaaay better than it really was.

The narrator being Peter "Optimus Prime" Cullen helps a lot too=]

@Confess-A-Bear don't worry, Jason DeMarco will make sure not to have any troll things, since he is now the VP of Marketing & Promotion.

http://www.awn.com/n...tworkadult-swim

He was a big reason why Toonami was so good to begin with.

Wow. That's a decent (potential) list.

I hadn't a clue what they'd usually show, and thought it was focused on Bleach and such (as is most evident by the few comments here - though I would then think "adult show? how? and why?").

But having something like Baccano or Hunter X Hunter (etc) on is great!

Oh, and the trailer looks fantastic. :)

I am sure they will still have Bleach... But they will have other things now.:wizard:

They(Toonami and AS) have had things like Cowboy Bebop, Eva, Trigun, Outlaw Star, DBZ, Naruto and Gundam shows in the past.

Baccano! is still just a maybe. Hunter x Hunter is just my little wish, it would take a year anyway to get the rights to make a dub and to make the dub itself.
