Well yeah. Fairy Tail is a bland soulless series that has a lot of fanservice.

Well you're a bland soulless series with not enough fanservice! >:-(

Thank you.

So just finished episode 12 of Attack on Cliffhanger, and I dunno, the show isn't as good as it was in the beginning for me.

You know with all the fanservice in shows like Fairy Tail and Historys Strongest Disciple Kenichi it has me wondering why the creators don't just make porn?

I would take a guess and say they most likely make more money in the non-porn side of anime and manga then they would the hentai side, but then again some people spend a lot of money on hentai doujinshi and Visual novels.

Actually I'm seeing more and more talented ero-manga artists moving to the larger field of normal manga these days.

Like Shokugeki no Soma. That series is reaaaaally fan-servicey for Jump. The art is really pro though, and the humor is pretty good (I liked the scene in chapter 2 when some haughty a-hole is making a speech in narration text over a background image and at the end it goes HWAAUGH and then on the next page you see the protag has him in a chokehold).

On the manga talk I've noticed a few are more of blurring the lines such as Sankarea, To-Love Ru, Break Blade and a few others. Nothin'n wrong with a bit of fanservice though.

I decided to watch Ergo Proxy, and I must say that I feel that it's a bit over appreciated. It was a fine series, but I didn't feel it was as good as Ghost in the Shell.

Well, it's kinda hard to top Ghost in the Shell.

Is that because Ghost in the Shell is a premier series in the genre?

It's definitely up there. GiTS is one of the more philosophically written animes. Ergo Proxy is similar in that matter, but something about that show just fell short for me.

I didn't really take a fancy the description of Ergo Proxy as a sci fi "suspense" series. GitS is more dystopian speculative fiction philosophical cop drama. I don't know what to expect out of "suspense."

Lol, Ergo Proxy is simply mind**** made into an anime. It's a nice one, mind you and even managed to make me go "WTF?" once or twice, which is pretty good an accomplishment I dare say.

But it's not a cohesive anime in the way of having an overarching storyline as opposed to living from one episode to the next. GitS is the stark contrast, where everything works towards the grand scheme of things.

And yeah, GitS, both the movies and the series are masterpieces of the genre. Top quality in story, art design, animation design, character design, arc flow and overarcing discussion all over the board.

Imho GitS is THE best anime I have seen to date and by now I've seen a fair share. Nothing comes even remotely close to such a level of excellence in all those points.

Finished reading Air Gear, cool manga. I wanted to post a pic of Ringo, Rika, or Simca in celebration but I couldn't find one with enough fan service without going overboard.

How the hell is someone supposed to be able to memorise the names of the characters in Durarara... they introduced like fifty million guys in the first episode!

It'll get better after a while. Believe it or not, most of the characters get their own episode.

Finished Daily Life of High School Boys, it's rather short but worth it's share of laugh, back to Detective Conan.

^ And Freddie Mercury. Started two new shows, neither impressed, I'll bother writing the names if either improves next week.
