What Sim said. After a while you get to know peoples tastes and vice versa and you learn who will give you solid suggestions for stuff. There's a few people in this thread if they suggest something I'll add it to my list without even having to look it up because I trust them and know they know my tastes.

I can't help but feel you play into the "I'm just different from people" thing a bit too much. I mean I get it, we all have different tastes, some of us more then others and that's fine but a lot of the anime suggestions you get are ones that are widely well received and it would be easier to figure out what you like if you watched some more stuff others here are familiar with.
I mean look at me and Lotion. *very* different people but even we share some common interests like we both think LotGH is amazing. Everyone here shares some degree of common tastes. Just trying to figure out what they are. You really should take a look at some of the critically acclaimed ones that have been recommended to you here in the past. You might be surprised at what you end up enjoying.

Considering the fact alot of people in this thread enjoy FMA, HxH, and OP, people like mainstream just fine. People here simply dislike Bleach, Naruto, SAO, Elfen lied ect because they simply suck ass.

I know I myself have my collective of folks here I take their recommendations rather heavily since through conversation, I can just tell them they get my taste and figure out the sort of ways to sell me on a series. I mean my most recent case in point is House (very patiently I might add) nudging me through FSN with HF being the desired reward. Needless to say, the route sits incredibly high up there now and through conversation, I get that House understands my tastes (that is what he could make out between all the hnnnnnghing but hey, he handled that well 
). I'm a proper slacker though and reinstalling WoW has done exactly nothing to aide me in my actually watching things mode.
Hell, all the scattered talk of Ar Tonelico between Liam and Grav have me intrigued but it's kind of sticking on my read up on eventually list since I haven't played a non SMT based J-RPG in 325325236 years and when I do slink back to the genre, it's either going to be for a Shadow Hearts replay or going through FF9 properly (Geth, Isi and Sim swoon off in the distance).
I still say they should make an ergoe with Dio as lead.

Yeah I have to give him a ton of credit since as I mentioned before, I spent the last 10 years figuring FSN was just a harem series and thus not my cup of tea. But of course getting to the delightful deconstruction that is HF made me laugh far too much cause if it came up in conversation those 10 years back, I wouldn't have lost interest in the Fate route over and over and would have pushed through. He hype trained me to keep me going through the bleh and I'm super thankful for it in the end.
Speaking of which, I really should do that write up.... Especially since it will give me a reason to read certain points in HF over >.>

Yup, House got it. :3 As far as the anime adaptions go though, I have to watch SDC still. I started it after coming off BT and just really needed a break and I just haven't caught up since. Might get to it at some point soonish though since the whole arc is complete so I can binge.
ETA: Shhhhh, Sim. Going to have to go hide now cause bashful. X3
I know I still owe you 352526 talks about LotGH but my brain's been too fried to start most things as of late (whoo stress) and I think part of me is still emotionally recovering from HF. Time to reopen those wounds when I write the book. 
Once I'm done my task of working through the Nasuverse and pestering House, I pretty much have both LotGH and HxH set to be my jumping points.
