That's telling.

The first movie has a few issues for me mostly in that it removes a couple scenes I really liked. It's more of a 9/10 for me tbh although I still love it to death.

Oh yeah, I freaking *love* TRS. I've thrown. Ovels about that at this thread in the past. Soooooo much gushing and stupid noises from me in regards to TRS it's honestly one of my top movies of all time.

It just does everything right and gives me everything I want in a sequel.

In a way it even surpasses the TV series for me.

I also read all of Lucky Luke (and the spin-offs for Rantanplan) and Oumpah-pah (the latter is quite a while back though (eight years or so?) ... will have to plunder my father's comic library when I visit again).
 
 
Also, if you haven't read Hägar the Horrible, you're pleb-tier comic connoisseur.

Lucky Luke and Rantanplan are based ad hell. Still have a view DVDs and books left.

I could easily throw a book post at you about why I think it does buuuuuut I only have 5 minutes left on break so I'll make my reasons short.

For one it changes the context of how you view the TV series and thus adds a lot more to it. It evolves the characters and shows you them in a different light. The animation, story and OST all just worked *so* perfectly together with it.

I also like how incredibly it screws with the fans. At first you see everyone so happy and you go with it because it's heartwarming to see, but as the story goes on like it's protagonist you just have that itching sensation that something is wrong and what you're seeing is just not right, even if it's what you want.

What I like most about the movie is it wasn't something that played it safe. That's one thing that annoyed the **** out of me with the S;G movie, is it's really just a watered down version of the TV series that doesn't change or really add anything. TRS is the exact opposite.

This would be 50X longer and more detailed but my break has ended unfortunately so... Back to the fun :'(
