I can deal with fanservice, as long as it doesn't screw with the plot. I don't see it as much of a problem. (Unless it's Freezing for some reason) 

Ugh..I got really burned by Freezing. I really wanted to like that anime. Freezing had a really neat premise. Essentially you threw s-support fireemblem pairups at the monster of the week and it had human rights violations, child soldiers, brain-washing, it had very serious topics below the surface. Maybe this is why I like Madoka Magica so much because it runs on the same principle. But for the show to devolve into smut after the first season...I cant.

Maybe. Not a fan of Yaoi. 

 

Yaoi, yuri, heterosexual relationships. Don't matter to me as long as the quality in the writing is there. Why limit oneself? I mean even as a straight person you can still appreciate things like love and good writing. Then again I've always been someone who likes to identify with characters based on their actual personality and qualities rather then sex, age, gender, sexuality. Those things just have no meaning to me in a story. This is why Saya no Uta is such a great story for me despite how effed up it is. As twisted as it was the two main characters still genuinely loved each other.

 

Tbh I think people that can only go through media with characters that are only like them or what they want to be (so like a white male only being able to watch shows based on other white males) are painfully limiting themselves and closing themselves off to potentially great stories and characters.

 

I'd make my spiel on how I relate to Sayaka again but I don't think most people here particularly need to hear that again.

The last four episodes kinda made up for it on the original and Vibration was... Vibration. I was disappointed in Vibration since I was expecting the NOVA to start wrecking again but... well.... you know how that turned out. 

 

Not quite. I do like the NOVA however and their concept, along with that weird angel like hum they make. But other than that it was just... ugh. 

 

Vibration had a good opening though, I'll give it that.

It's a trait that is heavily evident in films by Guy Richie or Tarantino, especially the freeze framing and fast forward camera panning of the former in his films like Snatch -- They also both share the tendency to rearrange their stories being un-chronologial and have events play out in reverse/and or in between each other and draw wider perspectives to each character as there is never a true protagonist of these stories. There are many. I love how someone remade the opening of Snatch with Baccano's opening music. The characters are just as ludicrously delightful and charismatic as that of Baccano. Here's the video(likely I've shared it before but here it is again).

I know I definitely think of Tarintino when I think Baccano. I'll check that video out now! I also think I need to watch Snatch as well!

 

I like those kind of stories because it actually requires some thought on the creators part and it challenges the audience a bit more. Usually the reasoning for why the story is so all over the place does tend to have an actual reason for it and that can add a lot to the story when done properly. I'm a huge fan of stories screwing with your perspective in whatever way possible :3

Even though it's what you first experienced I don't think it's being harsh. I'm the same way with the Card Captors dub, I mean yeah it did good in that it helped bring anime to America and it helped me specifically get into anime but that doesn't make it any bash worthy.
