@Chris

I know I definitely think of Tarintino when I think Baccano. I'll check that video out now! I also think I need to watch Snatch as well!

I like those kind of stories because it actually requires some thought on the creators part and it challenges the audience a bit more. Usually the reasoning for why the story is so all over the place does tend to have an actual reason for it and that can add a lot to the story when done properly. I'm a huge fan of stories screwing with your perspective in whatever way possible :3

If you want something that fits those criteria then I suggest watching Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind -- Best romantic drama crafted in cinema as far as I'm concerned. It's shares the traits of telling its story, bits by bits, definitely not in the perceived chronological order as one might initially have thought -- It relates a lot to the major plot points about memory, a sci-fi concept of erasing one's memory/a particular memory if anything.

It's been a little while since I last watched it, but I consider it one of my all time favorite movies :') That movie effected me hard. Doubly so because memories is a theme that is very dear to me.

One of my all time favorite animes is one called Kaiba which is another sci-fi type one that deals heavily with memories and those kind of ones always have the potential to destroy me emotionally.

Even though it's what you first experienced I don't think it's being harsh. I'm the same way with the Card Captors dub, I mean yeah it did good in that it helped bring anime to America and it helped me specifically get into anime but that doesn't make it any bash worthy.

Well... at least I have more credit in saying that since I am going to buy the comics bit by bit.

Saving up money for my UK trip.

Gonna buy tons of Berserk there.

And to think this dude up here hasn't played Planescape: Torment yet.

Stop with the Japanese stuff for a while man.

Get into that Chris Avellone magic.

Watching it might also be a good thing as I draw perspectives towards it in my writing of Stein's Gate -- Not so much because it's a time travel story (which isn't) but rather it's underlying discussion of human relations and the psychological and emotional depth that exists in the process of a relationship through the usage of sci-fi plot mechanics.

You're trying to rush me. I'm not Russian!

I'll likely finish season 1 tomorrow.

I prefer the word motivate over rush.

Ah, good, then I suppose all there is left to recommend is Mr Nobody with Jared Leto.

Are you trying to excite me even more for this review? Because it's working! X3 Hell I'd be happy with any kind of review from you regarding an anime I've seen. You and Chewin both have a writing style that scratches a part of my brain like no one else can.

I tried writing reviews for Puella Madoka Magi Magica and Shin Sekai Yori in the the past and it mostly just consisted of me slamming my face on the keyboard repeatedly well making some stupid noises IRL about how amazing they are. I guess we all show our love for a good story in different ways... Some people write up extremely well thought out pieces, and some of use just face/keyboard smash >_>

I'll definitely check it out when I get a chance. I go through media at a turtles pace but when someone with good tastes recommends something I always try and get around to it eventually.

I have told this before but my first ever manga was the first Cardcaptor Sakura volume they put out in English.

I think I got it just before the show came out over here.

The translation was a little off and edited. Not as much as what the dub did tho. And the art was flipped because they used to do that.

Even with these issues I look back on it fondly, it might not have been what really opened me up to the world of manga, that was Shonen Jump series such as Dragon Ball, YuYu and One Piece and stuff like Berserk too, but it still was my first manga ever so yeah.

I watched Tsukimonogatari. It's interesting but kinda short. I will say that for something that was supposed to be Yotsugi's arc she seems barely involved in it oddly. It feels more like Ararararararagi's arc.

Kariya, Tokiomi and Kayneth are bigger jokes then Shinji. Kinda an achievement really.

I wouldn't call them all incompetent.

You can't really expect people to act on info they don't have.

For example, Kayneth didn't know about the magic bullet, and it was obvious he was a far stronger magus.

Some of them do tend to underestimate their opponents.

Because perfection is boring. Perfection is just the ultimate form of stagnation.

Perfection cannot stagnate, otherwise it wouldn't be perfect.

So far the Ant arc has been really interesting. A big improvement over the Greed Island arc.

But where is mah Hisoka bro?  :o

The Ant Arc is where Togashis Chrishihiro's writing was 110% on point.
