They do got the whole "'hey, little brats,' says the grizzled 19-year-old veteran" thing going on, though. Guess it's justified given the setting.
RWBY seems technically pretty good (in terms of the fight scenes) and ambitious as a machinima. That's all I can say piqued my interest about it tbh, otherwise seems rather contrived.

Eh...the voice acting in one pf the RWBY trailers was pretty painful. The concept is interesting, but it feels like it's mostly leaning on Monty Oum's animation style. We'll see though, it could be a pleasant surprise.
What's the concept?

There are some songs here and there of Luka and the Kagamine twins I like. IA has a few good ones too.

@Foxx: GUMI is my favorite followed by Miku and then Rin. The Earth's Final Confession by Kemu is my favorite GUMI song (and favorite vocaloid song in general). Kemu is one of the most popular producers who uses GUMI, but he also uses Rin often and actually has a few GUMI/Rin duets. Anything from Livetune(kz) is good. He's the god of Miku songs lol.

RWBY definitely has an amatuer feel to it, which will be it's biggest blessing and it's biggest curse. There's more room for creativity, but the lack of experience the people have will eventually show itself. On the other hand, that means they have nowhere to go but up. Seems like it's worth a watch.
Yeah, the VA's for the girls? Its their first time doing VA. Some of the other VA's for other characters are people that they were able to grab in the Roosterteeth offices(for example, Jack Patillo voiced Junior in the Yellow Trailer).
Monty's a beast though, so I've got hopes. If it fails, it can't really fall that far, but if it succeeds, thats going to be really great.
I love Monty's involvement in the animation of the newer Red vs Blue seasons with the Project Freelancer stuff, so if he can take that level of awesome and bring it into his own project with RWBY, I think we're in for a hell of a show.

Sometimes you catch a break, other times you just don't.
I'm glad that they landed their roles(Lindsay, Barbara, etc etc), I just hope they learn as time goes on and get better at it. I'm sure they will.

without the over-the-top neurotic angst parade
So *that's* why I don't like the series...
No, really, don't you at any time feel Titans tries overly to present sheer "I don't want to die yet" emotion, but without any thought to it? Like, mass hysteria and drama but not much meaning behind it?
@Seraph - Sure I've seen Danganronpa. It's swell as far as I can tell... Tho I can imagine the game's better, or well, prior.
@RWBY - Seems interesting enough - nice fight scenes, Western style that fits with the Japanese influence. But I'm doubtful if it'd have anything to say really. Seems kinda silly. Has the potential for a pretty great game, overall... But not exactly as serialized.

There is meaning in the disaster, loss of loved ones, mass hysteria, fear and divisiveness, oppressive confinement, disregard for the poor, sacrifice and duty. Hopefully we can continue to explore a story grounded in real things like that, and not Eren going crazy a god am I, look at you puny ants etc, and having to spend several episodes (after he does some undoubtedly really, really stupid things) working back to the goddamn realization of what his comrade already explained to him episodes ago about every sacrifice having meaning and not to overlook them.
Or there being some annoying personal conflict between the main characters about how he was so mean with his fists and how can they trust him as he becomes more and more irrational and unstable. That would be annoying too.
I dunno though, this is probably all gonna happen.

Ok, ok... I know I'm not getting my point through with that... whatever it is.
Well, to try to explain - a reason for the difference might be also in that one series tries characters thinking and exploring the world, it centerpoints around that. Others are about stuff happening in the world. Things happening "just so" without reflection and without personal (yet objectively appliable) statements (tho I'd say nothing bad about that) as versus introspection and personal growing. Pure story vs phenomenology or introspection or something...
You don't explore the (real) world alongside Titans' characters. You see their story or something. And the story is really unconvincing in my opinion. Tho I can see how things like in Eva can be unconvincing to many.
Yet even if Titans' were convincing, for the abovementioned difference I think I'd not enjoy it so... I bet for many it's the same with Eva - they'd not enjoy it for its exploration and expression is in a much different category. And what works better as "convincing" really depends on the category ("story" or "introspection" in this case)...
It also might be that I put "too much" thought into this, whatever that might mean...

And there is nothing to say someone can't enjoy both Eva and Titan for some similar or different reasons.
