after excel saga im ganna watch the subbed version of PMMM. Seeing as I got nothing better to do, its the same story but Im curious if its as good as the english dub.

Just watched the final Oregairu Zoku episode subbed and I'm overall really glad with it. The final episode didn't even really feel all that rushed and was comfy as hell (until the end). Oh and damn Yuimom  . It's still a big goddamn tease though.

 

Anyway,

 

Oregairu is a story about our Loner/Nihilistic MC, Ice queen Yukino and our nice girl Yui. Along the way there will also be a lot of secondary characters that will get introduced but it will become obvious that some of those are a lot more important than others.

 

This time around we also have another studio animating the anime and I'm glad to say that Feel did a far better job than Brain Base ever did and I'm not just talking about the way that they handled the animation or art. Brain Base skipped out on a lot of stuff to the point that Feel even needed to include a scene in that BB never did and while Feel certainly didn't do a perfect job with how they handled the story they still did far better than BB.

 

Oregairu gave us a lot of information from some characters but didn't really go anywhere in the first season with it. S2 changes that by giving the character a lot more development. Hikigaya, Yui and Yukino's relationships will all be put to the test not just by themselves, but also by others.

 

Overall this might just be my favorite spring anime. It does so many things just right and even the 2 or 3 rushed episodes don't even really feel all that rushed and still manage to entertain. There was really no episode in the entire anime I would even consider calling bad.

 

 

Now I'll be waiting for OVA's, a movie or Watari deciding that he's going to make more Volumes and extend his contract so we can get another season.

Alright, so here is my "Essay" on Fate/Zero. I haven't done one in a bit so I'm a bit rusty.

Fate/Zero takes place during a holy grail war, where several masters summon servants to fight for them. [/size]

I'd have to say the plot was really solid, and it kept my interest. The holy grail is an object that is able to grant any wish, but I'm pretty sure there's some side effect or cost for doing so, but that's only a wild guess. Each of the masters and servants are different from each other, which easily creates a varied and interesting cast. However, I am somewhat annoyed by certain characters, as to be expected pretty much and by a couple elements. Regardless, I find the positives to greatly outweigh the negatives by far, and assuming season 2 impresses me like season 1 has, it may rival Sora No Otoshimono and Mobile Suit Gundam on my favorites list. For the masters, I’ve found Waver to be somewhat annoying, a spineless wimp to be exact. However, somehow he goes great with Rider and they both make an excellent pair. I also feel that with Rider, Waver is bound to get some good development, and they both seem to have a good bond between each other. [/size]

 Irisviel, a red eyed white haired chick, who has a bond with Saber, is a caring character and I feel that Irisviel and Saber complement each other very well. They have concern for each other and arefriends, very often seeing eye to eye with each other. [/size]

Honestly, I didn’t like Lancer’s master and glad that he got dealt with, but in a decent way. Now his wife or whoever she is now has to fight for the grail, but I feel with her that it may be for something other than healing him. That she might be fighting for it over something else. Of course I could be wrong on this, but I hope she is handled well. I do like how she handled getting her command seal though, and on how she got Lancer’s master backed into a corner.[/size]

 Kiritsugu and Maiya seem to go hand in hand as well, and I like how they use modern firearms to fight over using a servant, and that they don’t use magic or anything, proving that being a Mage or any of that is not required. I also liked how Kiritsugu was able to stay focused on the task after Caster’s murdering of the children in the forest. However, I do like the fact that he did question himself fighting, wanting to pull out with Iris out of the grail war. [/size]

I also liked how Kirei is being questioned by Archer and such, and on how he struggles to learn about Joy or something in that nature. I expect him to work with Archer in the future but am not entirely sure. [/size]

Ryuunosuke is Caster’s master and I like how they both break the rules, which causes a situation for the other Servants to need to unite. Like some of the others he seems to work hand in hand with his servant, Caster, who I found amusing from time to time. They are totally different from the others and I like it.[/size]

For the servants, I could care less about Assassin, since he didn’t do much for me. But he was different from the others, which all the servants are different, which again, is a very good thing. He did have multiple personalities, making him different. [/size]

 Rider, will always be my all time favorite due to how fun he was. I expected him to act in a certain way, but instead he was rather enjoyable, and I laughed on more than one occasion over him. He is a very awesome character and I look forward to seeing more out of him in season two. He seems to enjoy simple pleasures and I didn’t expect him to get into a freaking video game, that part just made me smile. I also love on how he gets from point A to point B with a freaking flying chariot and that episode were he and his army slaughtered the assassins was just too epic. [/size]

Lancer and Saber are not my favorites, but I still like how they uphold honor and chivalry, and how they both duel. It created a very good fight scene that was a pleasure to watch. They both are well balanced and I liked it when Saber was injured my Lancer and couldn’t heal. However, I wish they exploited this more. [/size]

 Archer, while arrogant and such, has so much class. I was in awe when Assassin was trying to do his thing, only for Archer to descend upon him and murder him. I like how he questions Kirei and attempts to teach him about joy and pleasure. I also like his armor design, which reflected upon a true king. I found him to be strangely likable.

Caster and his master broke the rules, which allowed for the rules of the war to be changed. Like I said I found him to be an amusing character and he seems to be where terror and horror spawn. He also is obsessed about Saber, since he believes her to be his. However, I doubt they lived in the same time frame. Caster also enjoyed his work and took pride in it, and is quite poetic. I thought it was interesting on how he forced the rules to be changed for the other masters and servants. [/size]

Berserker… I wish there was more of him and I thought he was worthy to fight Archer. I liked how he had a black aura around him and how he could grab any object and make it his weapon. His master I believe has chosen to enter the war to prevent some girl from having to fight it or something of that nature. Berserker looks cool as hell and I give him props for being the rage machine. [/size]

For the episodes, I’ve found the pacing to be good and that the story stayed the right amount of  serious, and that it actually delivered rather than try to, like Freezing did. Of course, it would be an insult to compare Freezing, which was filled with problems, to Fate, which is done extremely well. Fanservice, while I don’t mind it, was absent from Fate/Zero, which was a good thing. I enjoyed the opening song and found it to be fitting as well.[/size]

However, my major gripe was that there were some elements such as Saber’s injury not being exploited more. [/size]

The fight scenes were well played out and very entertaining to watch. Also, I somehow didn’t mind how season one ended, since it laid the groundwork for season 2. [/size]

Overall, I give Fate/Zero season one a 9.4 out of ten. I am very impressed and it is very, very high quality. A solid story and an interesting and varied cast of characters make it a great anime. It doesn't waste potential like some other animes do but can use a couple more elements. [/size]

So now the holy grail war is picking up! And chaos! Caster's creature that he spawned was a grave enough threat that made some of the servants have to unite and I was glad Saber's hand being injured was brought back up and made into an issue to the point where Lancer had to break one of his weapons in order for the wound to heal so that Saber could defeat Caster. 

 

Berserker appeared and he was awesome. I liked the way he took control of the fighter jet and fought Archer with it. I thought that was a good move. I also liked how Kirei handled Berserker's master (I can't remember all the names... sorry) and somehow spared him rather than kill him, which caused some internal conflict. Also, Maiya dealt with Lancer's master's fiancee. Unexpected turn of events. 

 

Lancer's master was a ****** and I knew it! He got a command seal and killed the father guy so that no one else got get one and I didn't like how he blamed Lancer for his fiancee getting attacked. However,  Kiritsugu had impressed me by cleverly dealing with Lancer and his master and on how he killed two birds, well make that three, with one stone. He made Lancer's master sign a pact and got Lancer to commit suicide, using the command seal against him. Then Maiya assassinates Lancer's master and fiancee, which technically doesn't violate the pact. Very, very clever indeed. I felt really bad for Lancer as well due to what happened to him. 

 

Also, Kiritsugu and Saber butt heads, which Kiritsugu reminds her that battle it'self is hell, and how he is willing to have blood on his hands if that means the world could be saved. Morals were challenged and overall I was very pleased with the first three episodes.
