Well managed to force myself to watching the episode, with some struggle. Quite a powerful ending. Significantly more so than what I expected it to be, and I am greatly pleased by it.

the last episode of UBW was 99% exposition. The opening scene was basically the two main characters telling each other what they already know. The only reason this episode in my eyes was the only good episode in UBW is because its the only TRUE NEW episode and because epilogues tend to tell you what happens after the main story has ended instead of really showing you anything new, a major theme of this anime unfortunately. I didnt bother watching the rest of the series because after jumping around i realize I already know what happens. Its like Haruhi's looping timeline arc, its the same damn episodes over and over again.

1:To be a better adaption then that movie, which it is

2:Ufotable added more Zero connections and went more in-deph with Saber.

 

The fights where also all better and the themes of UBW where at least there. Remakes can be better sometimes, this is a case where it happens. If Nasu ever did a remake of the fate route it would also be better since he would redo the Saber/Shirou relationship.

Ufotables UBW is based on the UBW route from the VN, not DEENS crappy movie(DEENS crappy movie was always based on the UBW route but poorly done) Ufotables UBW is a better adaption and closer, along with many new stuff added. SO yeah.

Nasu said in the interview material for the UBW S1 BD set that if Ufotable would have done the Fate route that he would have heavily rewriten it for the anime.
