Oh, and I disliked Guilty Crown myself. Funny how we tend to think of very peculiar examples when talking about stuff in the most general.

And I did enjoy Titans tho not very much, and I can't exactly pinpoint what people rave on about.

Btw, @RWBY - watched the Red trailer just now, and it's the most promising out of the bunch, for me. Might be the lack of spoken A-English, but I'm guessing it's more of the choice in theme (a Christian Red Riding Hood in a cool vs against the beasts) and the overcooled sound effects. Growls and scythe steel were perfect! Loved the more wilderness feel of it all (and I tend to like werewolves, certain modern renditions notwithstanding)...

From the 4 trailer I've seen RWBY looks like it could be good, but the 90's anime dub level of voice acting may drag it down a bit.

If I remember right Red has a Shotgun-scythe, White has a Revolver-rapier, Black has dual wield pistols-Swords with a chain, and Yellow has Gauntlets that fire bullets.

Yellow's trailer was the best then Red's, then White's, and Black's was the worst, but they all were pretty good.

Yeah, RTX was happening the last three days, and there were a couple RWBY panels.

So what we know is that the four girls of RWBY are all kinda but not kinda based on four fantasy characters/stories. The connection is there, but its not, as Mr. Ohm put it.

Ruby- Red Riding Hood
Weiss- Snow White
Blake- Beauty and The Beast
Yang- Goldilocks

Just finished watching Steins Gate.
A damn good anime.

Was expecting the recollection of memories by other people to be a big thing in the end. I was wrong. But a great anime anyway. Altough it seems to me it left many things unanswered..like CERN's involvment.

RWBY definitely has an amatuer feel to it, which will be it's biggest blessing and it's biggest curse. There's more room for creativity, but the lack of experience the people have will eventually show itself. On the other hand, that means they have nowhere to go but up. Seems like it's worth a watch.

Yeah, the VA's for the girls? Its their first time doing VA. Some of the other VA's for other characters are people that they were able to grab in the Roosterteeth offices(for example, Jack Patillo voiced Junior in the Yellow Trailer).

Monty's a beast though, so I've got hopes. If it fails, it can't really fall that far, but if it succeeds, thats going to be really great.

I love Monty's involvement in the animation of the newer Red vs Blue seasons with the Project Freelancer stuff, so if he can take that level of awesome and bring it into his own project with RWBY, I think we're in for a hell of a show.

Yeah, I agree. Where the VA will falter, the writing will probably pick it up. The writers at RoosterTeeth have a few years under their belt, and if they're anything like I remember (I used to sub to them in the PANICS days), then the writing for this show should be clever in the very least. Besides, I always support teams that do stuff on their own. For every bad project, there's a good one, and vice versa.

Plus, it should improve over time as experience begins to build for those who don't have it already.

I mean, look at how Red vs Blue progressed. The first five seasons are full of cheeky fun, but the seasons after that have some seriously deep story and then with the Project Freelancer stuff you have wonderful animated sequences.

Now RvB is in its 11th season.

Who knows, RWBY could follow suit.

Apparently the first episode was shown at RTX to attendees(not those watching via stream) and those people said the episode was MUCH better than the trailers.

Yeah, I remember Monty saying at one point that the trailers were kinda like weapon demos, for example the Red Trailer was all about showing the way Ruby uses her Scythe-gun thing and not really showing story.

As for the story, I don't know much of anything about it except there's this thing called "Dust" which the weapons run on, I think. And people use Dust for various reasons.

I should probably just wait for the 18th before I start talking story. haha

Ooh, fun fact- The intro to RWBY is performed by Jen Taylor, the voice of Cortana.

My favorites overall are Yang and Weiss.

Monty Ohm was describing Weiss at RTX and said that her outfit is chosen by her wealthy family(so she basically doesn't choose how she's dressed), which is why its so symmetrical.

But the one thing she can control is her hair, so in an act of defiance, she wears her ponytail off-center.
