Not yet, sorry. Admittedly, I started with the anime first, but I have just recently finished the first series of the manga, so I will be reading Nidame soon though!
Since the Witcher 3 is over and my purpose to live is less than it was 20 minutes ago I'll make a quick LOTGH post.
Here are two non-spoiler videos that'll give you the jist of what to expect.
It's a 110 episode space-opera/war drama portraying a galactic conflict between two states: The Galactic Empire and the Free People's Alliance. Before you make any allusions to Star Wars (though I guess the above videos kind of destroy that) this is a very ambitious series that handles politics, war and philosophy in an overarching narrative centred around the theme of Democracy vs Autocracy.
It's not really as complicated as it might sound. I know anime tends to make 1+1 into some impossible equation, but the series manages to convey these ideas simply without losing its depth or 'dumbing it down.'
It really is an amazing series with a huge cast of amazing characters.

Good, cos I'm still unsure as to what to make of what it's doing.
But two heads are better than one.
But with me in the pair it's still really only one head.
Don't mind me, I wasn't doing anything suspicious. These watermelons were already like this when I found them.
Also a warm welcome to the new meat thread members. You've gotten enough recommendations already, so I won't throw anymore your way. Well, not right now anyway. Might sneak some on your plate in the future while you aren't looking.
As for a couple of serious recommendations, that I can actually somewhat justify (unlike RGZ. Which you should still watch.), I see KittyWolf mentioned she liked emotional shows, so....Now and Then, Here and There. Boy meets mysterious girl, she gets attacked by mysterious machines, together they fall through a portal into another world, hilarity ensues. Well, no actually, it doesn't. What really ensues is some of the most brilliant yet depressing storytelling I've ever come across in an anime. One of those shows everyone should watch once, but no-one will want to watch again. And, because happiness is overrated, I'll follow it up with Bokurano, which is the mecha deconstruction to end all such shows, and makes Evangelion look like Carebears....

Oh? Let's hope that it turns out to be good stuff! Why do I believe this to be related to Madarame in some way? I believe this mode of thought is brought upon by what has been released in the anime for that season (obviously I have yet to see what happens after that).
I do wonder if they will continue with the anime, Genshiken seems unlikely to be a commercial success.
You assume that I could make up a single head? I will have you know sir, that I am much less than so. Perhaps we might equal only slightly less than a single head. :')

Both are somewhere on the watch list, and I heard the exact same thing about Bokurano. Admittedly I'm not too enthused about watching it as the description makes it sound a bit gratuitous.

To some extent. There's another show, based on a manga by the same author as Bokurano called NaruTaru, which definitely falls into the trap of just being gratuitously depressing/shocking without having anything to back it up, but I think the former holds up well as a good all round bit of storytelling that just hapepns to be very depressing. I'll admit that, by the end, I was a little apathetic towards what was happening due to the sheer amount of "it got worse", but it wasn't close to beak a deal breaker, and overall, I still it was a very good show, as the positives more than outweigh the flaws.

I like you already.
Hi new person go watch Tiger & Bunny.
Finally you mention it.
It's like you don't even care about your favourite anime.
