Pretty much everyone with Nen is crazy.
Leorio is sane tho.

Leorio is my fave, just cause of that one big scene he has.
I don't remember you shitting on King that badly. I would have poked you even more vociferously.
I wasn't that extreme, no. But I can relate with Chris ![]()
He called him Shadow the Hedgehog.
That was way too extreme.
And edgy.
There's this obseedingly amount of dull exposition which is dragging on and on which is also largely reflected in the overall narration -- Like the part that delved into the backstory of some bloke named Gyro. The story was poignant and everything but I failed to see the purpose of it beyond "look at how edgy this show we can be" -- Like a cat trying to show affection for its owner by coughing a dead bird unto the living room carpet. It feels like the characters have taken a hiatus from what was seemingly a story about adventure and discovery and now centered around a plot taken from Dragon Ball Z. If anything, the show should certainly be congratulated for wanting to break conventions with your average shonen anime but that doesn't necessarily mean it's going to be good.
I miss Hisoka, Leorio, Kurapika or the Phantom Troupe overall: It would be nice if they came back soon.
Chaos Dragon looks nice visually, but other than that I wasn't impressed. House and Angel was praising it, so we'll see.
Eh, Chaos Dragon will be a pass for me, didn't manage to capture my interest.
Honestly, I watched the first episode today and it didn't really impress me all that much.
It's an alternative for sure, cheesy bullshit always got its place and this season I've not picked one so maybe!
Yeah, I will second Ushio No Taria.
Hey!
Gyro is going to matter tons!
Someday!
I hope!

He never will. Blame dragon quest 11.
The only arc in HxH that was about discovery and adventure was really Greed Island and that was the worst arc. Lets also not act like Ant arc wast he first to bring in edgy and broody into HxH. Yorkshire did that first and even worse with the entire plotline being a broody revenge story that resulted in the two main characters being turned into damsels in distress.
I thought your main complaint was how everyone was fawning over him when he has moral issues, not that as a character he was bad, or a shallow tryhard edgelord ripoff or whatever. lol.
I'm sorry we don't agree. Can we be BFFS again? Please? ![]()

Yes, but that doesn't mean I can't enjoy Chris's rage.

Rage would be exaggerating things. Thankfully, Hunter x Hunter hasn't taken my loved one hostage while demanding an unreasonable ransom for their release yet.
It's just not clinging with me right now.

I still like Shadow World.
So you're telling me you finally played the game, eh?

Get out.

Let's just say it's draining -- It's been taking too many ques from One Piece in regards to its handling of pacing; They've spent episodes upon episodes talking about how much they are going to kill these ants yet none of them have really made a move yet which incidentally has led to Frieza conquering Planet Veg-I mean the Ant King conquering a nation and killing a bunch of people while everybody sat on their ass and picking their nose.
Unlike the homunculi in Brotherhood, I find these ants the opposite of compelling and the sheer minded ease with how strong they've become in a short amount of time feels a lot like a poor-man's Dragon Ball Z -- That is to say, like Dragon Ball Z. Everybody powers up solely simply by screaming loudly enough, if they aren't already handed over a season ticket to a years supply of Nen-aura.
The homunculi, while powerful, didn't make no excuses for their nature.. They were quite simply the manifestations of the worst sins of man, no misunderstood individuals, just beings of malevolence who stand by their principles and ideals even when they are facing their own mortality.
Inclined to agree, it's the only time I actually skipped episodes - too much filler for my taste with not enough payoff. Had a couple memorable moments, but that's about it.The only arc in HxH that was about discovery and adventure was really Greed Island and that was the worst arc.
Mmmmh, delicious tonkatsu curry ramen. K guys, what did I miss? Someone died? Sim got engaged and we're about to organize a hooker cosplaying as Reinhard? Anything?
Cool, though you are comparing a group of characters from a show you have experienced in its entirety, with an unfinished one. It is quite premature at this point, so you should finish it before dismissing it completely.
The problem of course is that it's hard not to make comparisons when one isn't having a good time -- It's all about reflecting and understanding what it is you like about one thing, and why you don't get the same enjoyment from another thing etc. Like if somebody told me that FFXIII gets good several hours in, I'd say 'pull the other one'. Point being, I'm quite a few episodes into this thing and I'm just not digging it.
As for the power ups and change of tone, well that is your prerogative. I didn't find that they damaged the show at the slightest, but enchanced it, especially with what the arc in question wants to tell. But if power ups will be the sole reason that will turn you off, might as well drop it here if that is the case. A waste though, but to each of their own.
It's more or less how these seemingly powerful abilities are handed to these creatures like a free coupon, that effectively makes them able t even the odds quite easily with the 'supposed' strongest Hunters in the show; That alone seems like typical shonen.. or at the very least what is negative about the genre. Like how your average shonen like Dragon Ball, or One Piece, there'd always be someone who is effectively stronger than the MC simply because someone has to be. Not necessarily because there's a proper explanation for any of it beyond wanting to score points for spectacle alone. Having said that, I do like how the MC in this show isn't grounded into some bizarro logic where sheer willforce alone grants him inexplicable power-ups.
Just to say one little thing I want to say.
Cell was the Perfect Life Form.
But what really is the "Perfect Life Form"?
Dragon Ball went with it meaning being a huge a-hole. JoJo also did this but much better.
HxH asks what the Perfect Life Form is. It brings it back down to something human, but no less complex as the Perfect Life Form like all humans, questions life and what it means to be the Perfect Life Form and what it means to be.
He never will. Blame dragon quest 11.
I blame it.
And I will play it too.
Damn it!
What's a Vita?...I'm waiting for the Vita to go on sale.
