The ending was philosophical, but garbage. I feel like I understand why it was done, but they should have wrapped things up. I hope the film does that.

EVA would be a 5/5 for me if it was not for the ending, the pretentious symbolism and the fan base that insults you if you have issues with EVA.

Same here, it was a solid 10 until the last two episodes which knocked it down to an 8. An ending is one of the most important things to any medium. I would not have bothered watching the film if not for the fact that I enjoyed the rest of the show. If that had been the literal end of the entirety of the series (no film existed), I would have been irate. It would have been an 8 hour commitment with 48 minutes of trolling.

Whatever DEENS SN sucks or not, it still does not change the fact that it explains alot of important stuff like the truth of Sabers pact and the download effect of Shirous projection(which Ufotable ignored in UBW)
If Vroom does not want to read the SN, then he should watch DEENS SN to get all the info that UBW will not give.
