Well all I can say is this.

 

Don't take what Chris said to heart.

 

It's slow, yes.

 

That's one thing.

 

The Ant Arc takes up almost the entire second part of the series ending at 136.

 

And the climax is very slow.

 

I was fine with it, since I'm good with these things.

 

Only kid to stay awake and wide eyed watching The Lord of the Rings for example back when I was like 5.

 

So I loved almost every second of it. It's one of my favourite arcs of all time, and King is easily top 5 of any antagonist I've ever had the pleasure of enjoying. Up there with Loghain, Tywin etc... actually he's probably my number one.

 

And the pay off is fantastic.

I enjoyed it quite well, in fact. Sure, it wasn't as engaging as the first half, but still good in its own right. 

 

And they upped the humor in the latter half, which made it enjoyable.

I'm pretty sure most people here would love it, since it's one of those ASOIAF/Can't put this sh*t down reads.

 

I'd say 50 chapters is a good indicator as to how much you like the story and where it's going. So if you ever get to 20th Century Boys, 50 chapters is the minimum to let you know if you hate/love it.

Ant Arc start of slow because it really want to let the viewer learn as much as possible about many important things so when poop actually hit the fan the viewer got all the info needed to just go all HNNNG at the right moments. 

 

Also of course the arc is a bit slow when it doesn't have basedd Pitou

 

 

About Kingdom, my guess is Chewin will like it but wish for a far deeper dive into the intrigues and political stage. Will totally like Ouki though, not liking him is marking onself as scrub for life
