So Charlotte was OK. A nice mixture of comedic and dramatic elements, specifically the exposition on the governmental body that conducts experiments on kids with supernatural abilities. Nothing impressive beyond that though, and I hope that the show will delve further into how exactly teenagers with super abilities is generally viewed as a normal phenomena by some, while being clouded to others (and how exactly they are able to go to school without issues) and to what extent it involves them in society as a whole.

Hopefully it gets explained further down the line, though I wouldn't be surprised if the show ignores these kinds of aspects, since it is quite an atypical trope for shows of this nature to simply have a vile governmental organization that hides its inner functions from the general public, and potentially serving as the main adversary that the main characters have to face in some fashion, without really bothering to explore social territories and political authorities for it to work in a functioning manner, despite playing on the ground with them.

Yeah, I probably have too high expectations for this highschool anime.

I like Clannad(and KEY stuff in generel even if I do find them to be very overrated) but the art design is so horrible I always laugh at it.

If you want to pass up a good show because of the art style or character designs, that's your problem.

Yeah, Clannad was great. That was my second favorite of the endings, I like the Tomoyo alternate ending the best.

That is pretty terrible... But you did beat Geth at YuGiOh so it sort of evens out.

The law of KEY, good common route, good true route. Horrible heroine routes. Sadly because sad heroine routes take the most time, KEY stuff takes a massive quality hit. Clannad and LB Refrain are better then the Vns simply because of that.

Not yet watched the 2nd episode of Charlotte but toning down expectations would probably be wise. KEY aren't exactly known for half the stuff Chewin wish for

YES. YES. YES.

 

LB Common route was pretty fun most of the times and so was Rin/Refrain but the heroines routes (besides Onee-san) were just not that good.

 

Same goes for Rewrite really. Akane is the only heroines route I would ever consider rereading. Moon and Terra were also pretty crazy.

Yup, and it suffers from all the normal KEY problems. Horrible art deigns, heroine routes are garbage, thankfully they never added H-scenes.

Chewin: We could see which of us slacks more, me writing my FSN wall of text or you working on HF? :3 As much as my fangirling for the route gets the better of me, I'm also lazy as **** and starting a new job soon so trying to get other stuff accomplished. I'd like to think it's a competition we can appreciate, as as one slacker to another.

ETA:Figured I might as well throw this out there since the topic has come up. You know me, stupidly huge PMMM fangirl? Yeah when I first watched it I wasn't crazy about the character designs either and I still prefer it when fan art comes in a more... realistic style shall we say? But it fits what the series trying to do. Mind you that doesn't include any of the labyrinths or atmospheric stuff since I've always loved that.
