And then I was crushed. Just when they managed to make me really like the dog and than they pull this off. I didn't even care that much for Caesar but when this happened I just felt it.

Goes to wonder how much of a budget UBW had.

 

Sales were even good for S1, with it selling 39k last time I checked, and Zero (both seasons) sold 50k+. 

 

With S2 combined sales, it will overcome it easily. 

 

Hence why it's a lulzy comment. Hell what makes it funnier is Zero looked better visually and Ufotable still broke their budget with UBW.

 

Zero looks better than UBW?

 

Nah, gonna disagree with that. UBW sports some better visuals and to top it off, considerable more variety, be it in architecture, lightning or magical spells. Heck, even Gilgamesh ability has more technical fluidity to his ability compared to Zero.

Zero consistently had good visuals where UBW started to buckle (the infamous ep18 visuals) On the other hand only one thing in UBW came close to Riders NP in terms of visuals and quality and that was the final fight between Gil and Shirou. UBW had too many episodes where the visuals and quality where subpare or low.

UBW hardly faltered for it to drop in quality. Take the action scenes for instance, basically every fight scene was a visual splendor and had nice variety to it.

Have to agree with Paragon on UBW looking a tad bit better than Zero. While there are some hiccups and a few uncomfortable uses of CGI (which is still overall good, but Zero also had the same issue), thanks to the variety of characters at play with their distinguishable abilities, the show managed to make magical aspects not only pleasing but visually distinct, which added more avenues for them to try incorporating visual splendor in more ways, and sporting some impressive details (Gates of Babylon being a prominent comparison). In addition to UBW using character movement and spatial arrangement between shots in a stronger fashion, which gave some improved uses and mixtures of lightning between scenes. 

 

I do find that Takahiro did a stronger job with UBW than Aoki did with Zero on that front.

Both shows looked great and both shows had a few scenes where the visuals were not up to the exceptionally high standards that both shows had.

That does not excuse the number of errors, horrible CGI(water, grail mud and UBW makes the CGI cars look good in comparison) and messing up with the first usage of UBW and overusing it. UBWs first use in Ufotables UBW did nothing for me unlike Riders NP which completely and utterly stomps everything BUT the final fight in UBW. Sabers Excaliblast in Zero was also better then its usage in the UBW climax.

 

The combat movements for servants goes into the power level and NP presentation field which UBW did do better(outside UBW which was botched outside the final battle and a few hiccups in the Saber and Berserker fight) and these don't make up for the number of errors, horrible CGI and inconsistent art quality.
