He disobeyed his sensei. Awful.

Just look at Rah. He respects his sensei. He has never questioned her wisdom. If Ani told him to burn all his Ikaros stuff he'd do it in a heart beat with a smile.

You never see him going "but sensei..." Or arguing her wisdom. A good kohai must trust in the judgment of their sensei and not argue it.

It was a decent chapter overall. Provides some context to a couple things which is always nice. I can tell things are getting ramped up though.
