I was never really into anime as much as some of my friends, but my favourites are -

Princess Mononoke, Spirited Away, Akira, Samurai Champloo, Cowboy Bebop, Elfen Lied, Avatar: The Last Airbender (I know American, love it regardless of western/eastern production), BECK: Mongolian Chop Squad.

Has a Son Gohan avatar and yet does not have DBZ as a favorite?

GT and Buu series get me too angry.  Lmao.  Shouldn't of went with his original idea of letting Gohan surpass Goku, but fans cried out :crying:

Cell series is amazing, still get chills everytime I watch Gohan snap.

I like the Boo arc it's fun, as Dragon Ball should be. Gt is crap filler.

And reallly fans had no say in what Toriyama did with the series. Hell Toriyama was said to his editor that he would quit making Dragon Ball unless he could make Son Goku older. The only time Toriyama was told what to do was with the Cell arc, his editor of that time said to him that the bad guys he was making were "boring" and fans didn't like them, so he then made Cyborg 17 and 18. Then the editor said the same thing about 17 and 18 so then he made Cell and the editor said the same thing again... So Toriyama gave Cell new forms and somehow that got the editor to shut up about it.:?

I also don't care much for Gohan at the end of the Cell arc, don't get me wrong I love the stuff with Cyborg 16 but Gohan never had self-doubt about himself or his power. It came off like he was out of character.

Fair enough, I do like certain parts in the Buu series (Mystic Gohan, Vegeta's final atonement), but overall, I just prefer watching the original Dragon Ball till the end of the Cell Series.

And overall for me I just prefer reading the original Dragon Ball manga from the start to the end. Less filler that way.

I also put on the Japanese ost for mood music as I read it.:wizard:

So I recently got the FUNimation channel and it is glorious. Most notably I've been watching this anime called B Gata H Kei and it's become one of my favorites. It's only 12 episodes, but it's brilliant stuff in terms of comedy.

Anyone try out the Manga app on the Xbox 360? Well don't. It's terrible, at least it is right now. Even Crackle has more selection. Started watching this today. Seems like a typical "forgotten past" anime so far. There's only three episodes, so I'll be able to have a full opinion on it soon.

Too late, downloaded it already. I did find Gurren Lagann episodes there so I've gotten some good out of it.

I'm not gonna lie, I really like all the Ghost in the Shell on there. The app really fell out of my favor after I watched something called M.D Geist. Gives a new meaning to the word terribad.

Pre-Near Death Note is good, post-Near Death Note is kind of boring and sucky.

I liked Bakuman better. It was done by the same guys who made Death Note but is very different from Death Note, it's more slice of life/romance/comedy. The series is a great love letter to comic book artists, and boy does it show just how hard it is for them to make manga and then get it published.

Making manga is one of the most f**king hard jobs there is.

A head scracther. Definately. It has a very interesting concept and is very atmospheric. It left me with a lot of questions, but in a strangely good way. Kind of a sad story with some hope tossed in at the end. Reminded very much of the Matrix. It almost allows you to interepret what happened in your own way.

So, would I recommend Interlude? Only if you're looking for something different and out there. It's only a two hour experience, so it's not like it will be that bad if you don't like it. Though, you have to find a way to muscle through the first episode, the fan service in there is pretty stupid and out of place. <_<

Only two anime stories I've truly enjoyed, but I'm no fan of anime to begin with. They were complex without being convoluted and generally kept at a good pace. Been a year or two since I've seen them, though.

The anime with long, drawn-out arcs like Naruto and Bleach annoy me looking back on the former when I was younger watching Cartoon Network and Bleach isn't much better from the snippets I've seen on Adult Swim. They spend more time explaining how they fight instead of actually fighting and more time in flashbacks and dragging melodrama than progressing the plot. It's just not my thing and beyond my tolerance.

But yeah, Death Note was better. Post L wasn't as good but I still enjoyed it.

Funny thing is series like One Piece, YuYu Hakusho and Hunter x Hunter pull off the long arcs far better than Naruto and Bleach could ever hope to. They move their plots forward and at the same time have interesting character stuff.

I mean the newest arc in Naruto, it was pointless. As for why it was pointless? Nothing happened, save for f**king up Gaara's character and it ruined the best Naruto arc, the Zabuza arc by making him and Haku come back as zombies. And that's one more thing the stupid zombie war was dumb and pointless. You can look it up yourself if you don't believe me but it's all ture.:?

As for Bleach it's a series that is full of retcons and dumb characters, it was good for like 4 books but it never got to the "wow" point and instead all it did was go down the poop path to become a crap series.

At the end of the day they are both series for kids but that still does not excuse bad/lazy writing/art.

Didn't YuYu Hakusho only have a little over 100 episodes? That's only 1/4 of what Naruto (wow zombies? Really? Filler or Canon?) and One Piece are at currently (Have they even found that treasure yet?). One Piece must have a lot more to it than I imagined if it can move the plot a decent pace over that much time.

YuYu Hakusho had 112 episodes and 175 chapters of the manga. But my point was that it did have "long" arcs.

The zombie thing is canon, it was like Orochimaru's move that brings the dead back to life but it was far more than just 2 or 3 people. With One Piece it was and has never been the point to find the "One Piece" it's more about the adventure. "It's the journey, not the destination". Hell one time they had the chance to ask someone who knows if the One Piece is real and how to get to it, however Luffy did not want to know about it at all, it would spoil his dream for it to be made that easy. I am sure they will find the One Piece close to the end of the series, I have a feeling that when they find it, it will lead into the last arc.

But you are right on that it has a lot more to it than just finding the One Piece. Evil World Government, wars with said government, the "poneglyphs", mysterious weapons of mass destruction, a-holes who get in the way of/****** off the Strawhat crew and other stuff.

One smart if a bit convenient thing the creator of the series did was this.

http://onepiece.wiki...m/wiki/Log_Pose

Nice way to keep the crew at one place for some hours/days.
