There were eight. I only watched the first two and the last Endless Eight. 

The second season was such a disappointment, but it was okay for me, Kyoani fans like me just watched K-On! instead.

The Endless Eight is one of the greatest accomplishments in anime, it really gets the feeling across of an endless loop of repeating the same actions until you're really bored. Started listening to things like this throughout the final two Endless Eights.
