Hisoka gifs are almost as good as Yang Wenli gifs.
Where do King gifs fit in this scale.

So Rokka No Yuusha's ep 3 and 4 are pretty solid as well?
Good to know. Might watch them today after I'm done with Ciel's chapter 5.

Back to see that Berserk's been translated properly now.
I swear I almost died in Spain.
Too
F*cking
Hot.
*super skeptical it is another troll link*
Ah, good. Sim is at least still a reliable fellow. Unlike other people here...
Though I'll just get right to HF right now, since today I won't be distracted like during this weekend. I'll save Berserk till tomorrow after work.
Best thing with old people is that they are willing to talk/write longer posts. Sometimes they are even very good posts.
Chewin has earned his cane today!

Oh shush you!

I'm pretty sure I said you should leave that stuff for later. Oh well.

I only write long if it interest me, but Chewin always steals my thunder on certain things like LotGH so I just continue to post random **** and to show my ire at CHewin for his slacking with something.

I rarely write long. I only tend to do it for things that very few people in here have touched. I should probably do it for Punchline.

I already finished it. It's great. A solid 9/10 show I just need to voice the reasons why properly.

AH ok maybe I'll give it a try again. I really wanted to like it considering the writer so if it does live up to his quality then that's good.

Well it takes like 4 episodes before it starts subverting expectations properly. The first 4 are generic ecchi slice of life with a small twist.

and to show my ire at CHewin for his slacking with something.

I tend to push anime and VN stuff to evenings, since during the day I have other activities. But sadly something turned up every evening during this weekend, so couldn't continue with HF.
Oh, and I just realized that the date in HF is not actually what the VN is counting as days, since the story starts in late January, meaning I am already in Day 8 instead of 7 that I thought I was.
Ups.

Don't know what you are implying, since during Schenkopp's infiltration attempt, we saw how the station went into lockdown, wherein it froze major functions and we even saw directly how it sealed entrances, floors and communication, in an attempt to hinder outside forces managing the fortress--essentially isolating both parties. Just as Schenkopp mentioned, there were only 50 soldiers garrisoned there in their section (who are in control of the main command center), rest of them locked out, so no there wasn't soldiers in the thousands that could help with anything. In addition, since the communications were cut off, parties both outside the fortress and inside were not aware of the events taking place inside the station, as can be seen when Oberstein is arguing with the Admiral, and soldiers inside the fortress wondering if it is a drill or not, leaving them in confusion how to act (in a hundred year war, no one has ever infiltrated the station, as the episode shows how the soldiers are believing it to be another drill). Long exposure to such calm events will lead to soldiers becoming stale in their actions (even a few weeks of such activity is enough).
Iserlohn functioning is based on full lockdown--wherein procedures are used in an attempt to minimize the risk of violence and increase the safety of installation personnel by restricting access and visibility to a threatening event, in an attempt to lock out both the attackers and defenders from main activities--due to the danger that the fortress possesses--but with the latter party relying on inside support to ultimately dwell out the attackers. But due to Rosenritter's rapidness in their actions, they where able to pave the way for Yang's fleet to enter (to handle any forces left inside the fortress to deal with), since the entire enemy fleet had been dispatched outside.
Their is certainly incompetence at play, but that factor is not due to Iserlohn's contingency measures making no sense, but the incompetence of Seckt alone (for taking out the entire fleet and not listening to Oberstein, who acted as one should during a lockdown). Seckt was of course paranoid that the fortress had been taken out already, due to him assessing that Yang's fleet was so small was simply a ruse. He was right of course, but his paranoia led to delusion, believing that Yang was setting an additional trap where he to act so he simply waited to see what would happen, which of course failed. His expectations relied simply on other head on strategies that 6 other fleets had used, and not taking into account any other possibilities to adapt the situation at hand.
S1 does suffer from incompetence, but as House pointed out--it is used as a means to an end, to demonstrate the consequences of military leaders and their actions. Of course, the show usage of it is quite simplified and could certainly use variety to portray it in more effective ways, but thankfully such issues are mostly disregarded after S1. I myself complained about issues that arouse--well everyone here did--but we can all attest that it gets better as the show goes along. But the infiltration of Iserlohn as a whole is hardly that bad of a one.
Highlighted the parts that I find idiotic (mind, I obviously mean by way of the show, not your argumentation). Compartmentalized lockdowns exist specifically to avoid paralyzing your own response to emergencies. Locking everything down makes no sense. It arguably leaves yourself more vulnerable since you're completely at the mercy of outside forces. Granted, the defense fleet is supposed to be said outside relief force and the interservice rivalry failed to make it count among other things at that specific time, but such dependency is ludicrous when simple compartmentalization can lock out infiltrating forces whilst still maintaining the option to resolve an emergency under your own power. THAT is a contingency. Not implementing such a basic system is the opposite, a lack of contingency!
I don't question the Rosenritters supposed combat prowess and mayhaps even familiarity with the Fortress or general imperial defensive doctrines, nor do I intend to trivialize the specifics of the situation. It is the basic concept of how this fortress is supposed to be defensible that's filled with big enough holes to have the enemy just waltz throughout and take it with, relative to the strategic value of this target, downright comical lack of required effort.
At the risk of sounding like a broken record: compartmentalized lockdown, autonomous station activity when disconnected from the choin of command (point-defense-system are to suppress enemy targets, damage-control gears up in preparation for deployment, etc. pp.), rapid response teams whose sector sweeping procedures are automatically triggered upon alarm, with sealed areas being capable of being locally purged via venting (or with sealed armor in mind, filling a sector with explosive gas/particles and simply burn it out) ... there's various security measures I can think of from the top of my head that by all means should be the most basic measures.
None of the above isn't present because soldiers grew lazy in their conviction of being invincible inside that fortress, or some such. Those are rudimentary design oversights.
