Devilman isn't particularly superhero stuff. So much as it's an analogue for why War sucks.
The Manga is pretty fucked up. The anime is dependent on if it's the 70s anime or the OVA.
Then it has a sequel called Violence Jack that's even worse.
Because God in that universe is a jackass.
I both love and hate it. I also rarely get to talk about it. So that's why I keep focusing on it.
And yes. That one thing does seem like something I'd like.

I just personally see it more as a Cosmic Horror Story with graphic dismemberment's.

That does sound like the sort of thing I'd watch even though no one recommended it and then recommend to everybody but probably not get anyone to watch it.

What I gleamed from the synopsis made it sound like the basic setting is pretty much taken straight from Shingeki no Kyojin, so I omitted it in favour for Rokka no Yuusha.

It's pretty similar. That said, I like Lenka better than Eren primarily cause he's not a loud mouth like Eren was. Plus, the visuals, music, and character designs are absolutely on point. I would recommend giving the first episode a try.
I'd say give it at least the 3 episode rule.
I personally didn't like episode one anywhere as much as ep 2 or 3.
