That is all. Just finalized my PC after going through a several hours upgrade marathon to get Win10 Pro (had Win7 HP, hence would get Win 10 Home, but also had an old Win8 Pro upgrade license my father had spare and gave me, which I never used becauase Win8 is ****, but installed that now, then got all the 144 windows updates, then upgraded for free to Win8.1 Pro, then downloading all those upgrades, then forced the Win10 upgrade with cmd shenanigans, then did a clean install with that one, then used the new MS browser to download Firefox, then downloaded all the other necessary programs and now I've got Win 10 Pro, weeeee).

 

Much internet torment ..

Waiting it out is generally not a bad tactic, but I got to say that so far, Win10 looks pretty good.

 

I was honestly amazed at how fast it boots compared to my Win7 system (and I always made a point to periodically clean my system so it stays fast). But all those unnecessary pre-installed apps ... wheather, finances, news, travel (!?). Threw them out the airlock instantly.

 

The next verdict will come once I got my games back (like I said, clean install, so everything is gone (well, I only formated my C drive and games and other stuff like music, movies, anime is on D, but with the registry wiped the games obviously have to get reinstalled, kept all my anime though!) and it'll take a while to download/install them again) and as long as I don't experience any significant performance issues or program instabilities, I'd say Win10 is keeping the tradition of the standard Windows good-bad-good-bad-good cycle.

Putting some more thought into it, it's hard to say I really have a favorite because they're all pretty good. I like Pearl a lot, and Amethyst and Garnet, and Lapis and Peridot (stuff like the first few seconds of this clip from episode 67, lol). I feel like the three main gems all get their turn with the idiot ball that feels more like a consequence of having mostly 11-minute self-contained episodes, so there's just not a whole lot of time to flesh out motivations and such, even if they do an admirable job overall with characterizations despite that limitation. Pearl is also a favorite though I wasn't incredibly keen on her development in the last bomb, some idiot ball moments again or so I felt, but some good moments too.

Yeah, I agree with just about everything you said. It's hard to have a favorite character since they're all so great and have their moments for good and bad. Between Garnet, Pearl and Lapis I could go back and forth. I have to admit if I stand back and look at the bigger picture Garnet is probably the best but I have a real soft spot for Pearl as well.

I still have a fair bit to watch though. Haven't met Peridot yet, and I've only seen a couple episodes with Lapis. Only on episode 30 or so now.

Well Amethyst isn't my favorite even she is a really fun character and I admit I can relate to a lot of her qualities.

The show does a fantastic job with characterization considering the time limit like you said. These kind of ones I always find it difficult to have a solid "favorite" because I just like them all.
