Live action has let me down repeatedly. Granted, there are some pretty fantastic shows and movies that are live action, but I feel anime is simply... superior. It's mainly due to the fact that much more can be done with anime and the possibilities are limitless.
But that's how I feel. Others may feel differently.

You. It's your fault they canceled Hannibal. Shee-nay!
--Saber's death I saw coming, considering how every other Servant got taken down like flies, so wasn't much of a shock for me. Will be interesting to see when Alter Saber finally shows up and what kind of an individual she is. So that leaves Archer and Berserker left. Well Berserker looked hideous in that HF opening, so he will get his in due course. Hmm, wonder how things will go for Archer then. And Gil as well, considering he is apparently immune to the corruption.
--Sakura being Rider's true master didn't surprise me either, considering how much mystery surrounded her I kinda expected this kind of a twist (in addition to Sakura having a Command Seal shaped bruise in the UBW anime, which served as a nice hint).
--Decided to prioritize Sakura in the playground, instead of being a superhero. The latter option was sorely tempting, though I am more curios to witness what kind of road it will have for Shirou to rely on his goal to save one person at the risk of many. But I did reload the save file, since I had a feeling that choosing to be a superhero was the infamous "Mind of Steel" ending, and I was right.
Well it was certainly a disturbing and simultaneously an intriguing bad end. Shirou knowing what kind of man Kiritsugu truly was, and accepting that same, destructive role despite that fact is quite terrifying, and having Illya pity him was rather bittersweet on my part. My only complaint is really that it is too short. While true, there isn't really much of a purpose for it to be longer, since the outcome is pretty obvious (as Kirei himself makes of it), but I would have still loved to see how the story goes, how Shirou potentially reflects upon his own methods and ideals more and more with Kiritsugu and others, and how he gradually succumbs to it. But it is simply a personal pet peeve of mine, since seeing how is mentality would have changed further would have been fascinating. But yeah, it was still a cool bad end, which further showcased how broken and dangerous of an individual Shirou really is.
--I do have more respect for Sakura as a character, which I am glad over. She certainly had a minor role in two routes, and now having unraveled her secret and to further see what defines her as an individual and how it correlates with Shirou, is appreciated. Also I am liking that it seems to be Illya who is partially holding up Shirou's spirit during certain stages. I do hope both of these girls continue to deliver in some fashion along the way.
Awwww yeah! Now you're around where I started to become part of #TeamSakura
Phone and work getting in the way for a longer post but that we can have later
Anyway, I've been trying hard to get my father to watch anime. He was watching some Gundam Wing with me earlier. I'm trying hard to get him to watch Fate/Zero.
I doubt he'll like anything like Jojo or Sora No Otoshimono or PMMM, so I'm going with Fate/Zero. Something that even he should like.
Hopefully I'll be successful and make him realize that anime is better than live action!
Well if you're really trying to impress your dad with anime then you should get him to watch Monster's English Dub.
There.
I won his heart for you.
It's a good gateway for peeps who don't get what the medium can offer.
Of course it all depends on what he's like etc etc.
If he likes thrillers/crime dramas/psychology then he will like Monster.

Do u even Breaking Bad?
Actually. You get the right director behind it.
Fate/Zero would make a pretty good 2 part live action film.
And if you got the people that worked on the Scott Pilgrim movie on Jojo then that actually wouldn't be that bad.
Just include more Speedwagon. That's where that Phantom Blood movie fell flat. Among other things.
:') Yes. Chewin is seeing the beginnings for why I am on #TeamSakura. It's just going to get better from here on, my friend. Well, I'm biased as hell so I can only say that for me but still.
Not real spoilers, going off something you mentioned regarding the UBW anime:
Spoiler
Huh. I still haven't watched it myself so I've been curious how they've handles Sakura. The bruise is fairly curious in that it does lay hints to what's to come in HF.
Her being my snake waifu's master didn't exactly surprise me since let's face it, Shinji and Rider are textbook cases of incompatible master and servant and the VN does hammer home a lot in UBW about how masters and servants are paired based on similar wants and such. Even though it wasn't shocking, it was still damn amazing. Especially because the bloodfort point in Fate us one of the times I felt the route was worth it.
But we'll get into that more once you've finished and I stop being a lazy piece of **** and write my love letter to FSN.
Yeah, you need to get around to that post of yours. Otherwise I'll end up winning our little contest.
I still need to Three Kingdoms 2010.
Why do 45 mins have to be so long?
*pouf gif*
Once you get around to it and feel fully invested--you'd wish they were an hour long.
So there's this Berserk Redux thing that somehow (and apparently awesomely) combines both the movies and series into one thing making the ultimate Berserk anime experience.
See I don't get this idea that one type of medium is superior to the other. They each have their own strengths and weaknesses but whether it's a book, manga, movie, show, anime, live action or anything they all have the potential to deliver a satisfying story. I obviously have a preference for anime as of lately but that doesn't objectively make it better.
Edit: also my dad is one of those people who typically believes animated shows are for kids. Well I get that for him most cartoons and animes he is aware if are typically aimed at a younger audience it's the same idea where having the story be drawn doesn't necessarily make it something that can't be mature (Example: Monster, Psycho Pass) sure you don't get actual actors and such which can be a huge strength of live action but many animated films have a higher emphasis placed on VA, often sound design and they can also tend to be more creative since things like special effects and scenery is handled differently.
And yes, good example Sim. Breaking Bad was a piece of art IMO. Absolutely incredible series. Thought provoking and artsy. Makes me want more Better Call Saul which has also managed to impress me quite a bit and fill the hole Breaking Bad left well still managing to feel enough like its own thing.

I've never seen the necessity to catter to a specific medium and mark it as "objectively better". Just as you pointed out, they each come with their own strengths and weaknesses--e.g wherein a movie has the ability to use visual representation as an auxiliary to convey the story, while a book generally has an easier time focusing on characters' minds through inner dialogue. It is one thing when you argue about adaptations or if you wish to generalize mediums, and whether one medium did it better than the other (and usually at most cases the original work tends to be the best--a book or a manga).
But whatever the case, it isn't as much as whether one medium is superior imho, but more in how the artists / writer / director uses his / her tools to their advantage in meaningful ways to create somthing substantial. When you have an idea that you want to create, know what you need to do and how to achieve it, and if you are skillful enough, then you can make something worthwile. It is not abnormal to see certain individuals state that the reason why the decided to tell their story through a specific medium is due to them finding that it fitted them best.

Haha yeah. Each medium has its merits for storytelling.
This is why I hate literature elitists or elitists of any kind of medium. But whatever, they're missing out of lots of things. Imagine missing out on something as good as the Ant Arc cos 'cartoon ain't for me.' Or hell, imagine missing out on stuff like Berserk or Vagabond cos you can't take comics seriously.
lmao.
A good story is a good story no matter where it's at.
Might be good for a bunch of different reasons and they might need to employ different methods...

This.
Completely agreed Chewin and Sim.
On a side note that's why I dislike when someone says something along the lines of "we're going to make the Breaking Bad of games" what made Breaking Bad so good is Vince Gilligan understood his medium and its strengths and played on it. Trying to copy that onto another medium just doesn't work. It basically just comes down to what Chewin said about how the people working on the series for any given medium actually uses the tools at their disposal to tell an effective story.
Do you understand why I think Luffy vs Bellamy is one of the best fights in the whole series?
I think?
You have a better eye for these things.
Without trying to make myself sound smart I loved it because it's basically Luffy telling his literal antithesis to f*ck off. As in, not his antithesis because 'omg Bellamy is a dickhead' but more to do with how he shat all over what Luffy believed in.
Which is why I think Blackbeard is gonna be a great villain.
