Continuing with Blood and Steel. It's pretty good so far. Like I already said, the art is georgous. The action is likewise excellently drawn (which is obviously important with this being an action/wuxia martial arts manhua) and the character designs, oh boy, did I say it's georgous already?
Story so far is standard fare:
Martial arts temple/school on mountain, powerful student makes entry, establishing in-universe badasstitude for that martial arts school. Other school of martial arts comes to challenge. Twist - other school aims higher than just honor match, best in province or best in style. They want best in the world! Ultimatum - submit, or fight. They fight (and the fight is AWESOME!), but lose. Other school proceeds to kill all official students to quench potential revenge seekers (lets uninitiated rookies live though). Protagonist gets ordered to survive, runs away, get's chased, gets beaten up a bit and violá - enter the last student of a long since destroyed school looking for revenge and proceeding to kick ass.
That's the blip of what I read so far.
Oh, everything looks absolutely amazing, did I say that already?
Aaaaaanyway, will definately stay for the artwork and action. And who knows, maybe the story will fill up a bit to catch me too, though if the rest remains at that level of quality, it isn't necessarily a requirement unless extreme story fatigue sets in.
Can recommend for anyone looking for an action manga!
