I think most people who enjoyed TLoU did it because of the characters not the stories. I loved it and I didn't really care too much fort he story since it was cliche, it was the characters hat drew me and continued to make me want more.

Blood and Steel continues to look excellent. I wouldn't call it farfetched to compare it with Vagabond. Obviously the general theme is different, with this one being a wuxia revenge story and Vagabond being an adaptation of a semi-historic telling of an actual person's life, but there's enough similarities to make it a fitting comparision.
Anyone who likes Vagabond should check it out.
